I'm sure a lot of people here know about the "Encyclopedia Britannica".
The M volume was one that was used as punishment in many ways.
The fact cellphones are relatively cheap and easy to get as well as access to unlimited wifi allows almost all of human knowledge accessed in our hands.
That's a lot less trees (hopefully) being cut down. However, what happens when the power goes out? Physical books must be preserved. It's why copes were made of the books of the bible and then copies of those and so on.
I'm sure carrying around a scroll on dead animal skin would be frowned upon so call me crazy. Modern books aren't as durable.
In summary, the internet isn't bad overall but our use of it good or bad is the problem.
