SignUp Now!I have not listened to the clip yet but I will ask...Why not compare yourself to Jesus? We are to be like Him...I disagree with that, Jesus had many followers 5,000 I think the number was when he fed everyone, , as a matter fact look at now 2000 years later and has a very good following. As a matter of fact I think it is disrespectful for this guy to make such claims as he would have more people come to his church then Jesus.
I do get what he is trying to say, , but to compare yourself to Jesus is not something I would ever do or recommend any one doing.
Yes, I know. Praise God. How about that message? I love my Lord, and you've chosen me to do what? Go forth and be killed, if it be Father's will. Yeah, it was hard for me to swallow several years ago too. Sure makes thy belly bitter, but the Word in my mouth is sweet as honey.Like the speaker in the video Jesus also hated it when people were unable to understand. But... He would not compromise his message in order to retain his followers. Because He did understood this the consequences, "Jesus wept".
The speaker says that Jesus was unwilling to soften the message received from the Father when he delivered it to people. Again, no compromise! The speaker admitted not wanting to preach a message that would drive a congregation of people away, but Jesus not just willing to do it. He did it! I It was his Father's will. Just read John chapter 6 to see how serious Jesus was. Remember this verse where many were unable to accept his words and walked away from him?
"From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him." John 6:66
And then as they walked away Jesus challenged even his closest followers:
"Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" John 6:67
His meaning was clear ( at least to me it was). He did not want the twelve to leave him, but even if they did he was still not going to change his message!
What could we lose because we are unwilling to compromise God's Truth? How about our family, our friends, our material goods, all of the comforts of this natural life we have thought of as "good"! Are we willing to lose all of those things?
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Rom 12:1
Then go back a verse quoted in the video:
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple" Luke 14:26
Hey this not my message either. This is Jesus' message. This is God's message.
Give God the glory!
Perhaps he would have a large following, but would the result for his carnal body... if God allowed it... be any different? That is to say, they would probably kill him again. People like their freedom to sin!I just think that if Jesus came and preached today he would have a huge following just as he did back in the day, making this guys statement false to me. Jesus had no social media and had crowds of 5000 and more,I do not think many today could do that. thats my main point, I am sure many followed him for the wrong reasons just as they do anyone else. Praise Jesus !!
You know Him probably better from what you have posted here than some I have met who claim to know Him.Possibly. In fact, I would be more interested if Jesus was the pastor of my Church. Jesus is really wise, and straight to the point. He doesn't sugar coat anything, and knows how to tell "em". I was reading the bible and he knows how to talk to people who are hypocrites like Jews wanting him dead cuz he said he was Jesus and they would probably accept anyone else but Jesus himself.
Pastors now a days are too smiley, or too "extra". There too busy telling the nice things you want hear or trying to get you excited by turning church into a concert with the crazy dancing, and shouting "Amen!" every time they speak.
I would prefer Jesus. Straight to the point but balance with details, and metaphors with none of that extra extra stuff like some pastors today who act too happy or need to put on a show.
I personally don't know Jesus myself but I like his attitude as described in the Bible.
P.S - did not watch the clip
Keep the faith; I'm not dead, yet.I just think that if Jesus came and preached today he would have a huge following just as he did back in the day, making this guys statement false to me. So you don't get it, I understand. I think, he hit the "mark". I understood it without a hitch. I guess, it just was not for everyone.I disagree with that, Jesus had many followers 5,000 I think the number was when he fed everyone, , as a matter fact look at now 2000 years later and has a very good following.
