Here and there on the forums we read talk about helping others if we know they need help.
While the world holds on to that to some degree, is the Church under any obligation to always be willing to help someone when she sees them in need?
For example, have you heard of man, Rocky Myers?
He is on death row in the USA.
It is said that he is innocent and may have mental impairment. However, he is in his third decade of incarceration.
Perhaps you could search the internet if you would like to know more about him?
The point is, though, if we see a man who needs help, like Rocky (petitioning the authorities) should we do nothing or should we take a few minutes to help?
Or, should we do something more... for example, if it was someone we love being family, how far would we go?
Or do you think (for your comfort? ) that it's not my business and I shouldn't interfere with the decision of the authorities?
I encourage you to find out more about Rocky Myers and then share your thought.
I remember a book by Richard Wurmbrand, titled, If That Were Christ, Would You Give Him Your Blanket?
What should we do and what can we do?
Should we only help those we know are believers? Even then, how much so?
