Pray that God will give you the interpretation. If no interpretation comes, forget the whole thing.

Great question. Personally, I would test that spirit brother. By testing the spirit, it would confirm whether or not the passage from deuteronomy applies.

1 John 4:2-3 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

If that is not an option now at this point, then seek the Lord perhaps in the manner that SLE recommended.

I will say this, however. I remember when a "prophet" spoke a word of prophecy over a woman I know. This prophet was quickly exposed as false, however, this young Christian woman still to this day (5 years later) holds on to that prophecy, and cannot let it go. That is just one example. I am just warning you that putting alot of stock into stuff like this in my experiences has done more harm than good. That is all I will say for now.

I agree with brother Ed. Pray about it and if it is truly from GOD, you will surely know its from Him. If you feel heavy doubt about it, its probably not from GOD.

Also, how well is that person's walk with Christ? Another factor to go by is that a well.

The passage you quoted from Deut 18 is referring to idol worship, and spiritual works of darkness.

The problem with this 'vision' is, it appears meaningless.
By that I mean, its so scant in its revelation, it reveals nothing to you, warns you of nothing, tells you nothing you probably didnt already know, (you need to sort out your life, and cyprus is a country 'somewhere') therefore can serve no purpose (as a sure word of prophecy, or vision does) except to tell you the speaker has supposedly has visions lol.

I`m sorry for chuckling a little, I could tell just about anybody on this forum that I had the above 'vision' concerning them, and they would find at least a wheel barrow full truth in it. There are a lot of people running around, trying to 'work up' some power to prophecy, and all they are really using is the power of observation, and one wild imagination. :`)

One test of the persons 'spirit' is, is God getting the glory? If He`s not, then they are merely glory seekers.


It might be helpful to note here, the horoscopes in the magazines and daily papers, are worded in such a way, they fit the majority of the population of readers at any given time.

If I were told the above vision concerning myself...I would have said: ...AND?

"And what?" the 'visionary' would ask.

AND, is that all? No instruction, no warning, no prophecy, no nothing?
Then it means nothing to me. I sure aint goin to waste my time praying about it, tho the person telling me should be a prayin`

Yes, I agree that if this was some sort of relevation just for you, there should be more to it.
Perhaps this person just had a dream about you and that's all.
Maybe the dream is from God, but if He is directing you to Cyprus, either the country (or possibly a tree?) He will give you more information when the time is right. And you'll have this dream as a confirmation of what God is doing in your life.
But for now, pray for wisdom on the matter, write the details down so you have them if needed. If nothing more comes from God, wait on His direction. Don't run to Cyprus!!

The dream isn't necessarily from Satan either, the book of Joel said that people would see visions and dream dreams. I have personally had dreams from God, but unless there is an interpretation and clarification, wait upon the Lord.

(Don't be like Moses, though, if you get the information you seek. He saw a burning bush, talked directly to God, and still tried to get out of the mission God had for him (returning to Egypt). On the other hand, Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, was blinded and then healed, and "immediately" began to preach the Gospel of Jesus.)
