Make Prayer A Habit

Some habits [ addictions ] have great results ! The best
one is prayer . To find an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
we must become habitual prayer people .

ROMANS 12:12

12- Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in
prayer.

Prayer is a habit that, like every other good habit, must be
developed.

You know you need to pray. You need God's help, His wisdom and
His guidance. But you must persevere in prayer. The activities
of life try to keep you from praying. So persevere!

Put aside time to spend with your Father in fellowship and prayer .
Take the phone off the hook , and lock the doors if you have to !

LUKE 21:36

36 - But keep watch at all times with prayer, that you may be
strong enough to come through all these things and take your
place before the Son of man.

In communing with God, you gain strength that comes in no other
way. You find the wisdom and courage to face life and overcome.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:17-18

17 -Never stop praying.
18 - Give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you
in Christ Jesus.

Learn to always include God in your thoughts. Ask Him about
everything. Cultivate your relationship by continual
communication. And one of the most important things for you to
communicate to God is your gratitude. Thank God for everything.

Don't relegate prayer to just when you're on your knees. As you
go about your activities, include God by constant communion
with Him.

Talk to God about everything! In our walk with God,
let this be our prayer . Lord, help me to develop the
habit of continual communication with you.

The power of prayer is just amazing.Prayer to me is almost like talking to god,i feel and know he can hear me.I pray everywhere.I used to feel kinda weird doing it in public..but now since i given my life to him..no longer am i.Im starting to pray more than i realize..its habbit..but a awsome one.

Praise the lord :shade:

Prayer is truly vital, but it need not be complicated and difficult. In Matthew 6, Jesus gave us a model of simple but effective prayer.

Remember, we must come to God as little children; without fear and with simple faith.

I am praying

yeah, I like to pray in my busy schedule. But God is giving me grace to sit upto half an hour daily with Him. I want to increase that time. Daily morning also I will sit in the bus and meditate on Him. I don't get much time. In nights I get sleep soon because of the hardwork. God knows me.

Great thread brother Mike. Nothing is more important than communion with our GOD, our relationship with Him. Talking to GOD, giving thanks, praise and worship is a necessary and respectable thing to do after all that Christ Jesus has done for us, all that GOD has done for us. Salvation being the key (eternal life how awesome?).

This is a piece from an article I found at gotquestions.org (great site)

Question: "Why pray? What is the point of prayer when God knows the future and is already in control of everything. If we cannot change God's mind, why should we pray?"

(1) Prayer is a form of serving God (Luke 2:36-38)

(2) Prayer is exemplified for us by Christ and the early church (Mark 1:35; Acts 1:14; 2:42; 3:1; 4:23-31; 6:4; 13:1-3) If they did it, we should also.

(3) God intends for prayer to be the means of obtaining His solutions in a number of situations:

a) Preparation for major decisions (Luke 6:12-13)

b) Overcoming demonic barriers in lives (Mt. 17:14-21)

c) The gathering of workers for the spiritual harvest (Luke 10:2)

d) The gaining of strength to overcome temptation (Mt. 26:41)

e) The means of strengthening others spiritually (Eph 6:18-19)

(4) We have God's promise that our prayers are not in vain, even if we don't get specifically what we asked for (Mt. 6:6; Rom. 8:26-27).

(5) He has promised that when we ask for things that are in accordance with His will (we find that in His Word), He will give us what we ask for (1 John 5:14-15).

Sometimes He delays His answers according to His wisdom and for our benefit but urges us to be diligent and persistent in prayer (Mt. 7:7; Lk. 18:1-8). Prayer should not be seen as our means of getting God to do our will on earth but rather as a means of getting God's will done on earth. This sounds like a nice, trite phrase, but I am grateful that He works that way for His wisdom far exceeds mine and His love for me and for others far exceeds my own as well.
