Hello, I'm Renee, I'm 20 years old, I'm married, and I've been a Christian for almost my entire life. I was raised Baptist and the church I went to had very misogynistic ideas that were pushed and taught to us, which only made me resent Christianity and the Bible. It caused me to struggle with my faith later on in life as well.

I've struggled with my faith for a while, and even for a few years I considered myself to be an atheist. It wasn't consistent during those years, I would go back and forth between atheism and Christianity. I wouldn't consider myself to be super conservative, like at all really. I'm still supportive of the LGBT community and I am pro-choice. I'm not willing to debate about whether or not the Bible supports it or if "real" Christians should support those things. Those are important to me and I feel the need to mention that to see if anyone else has similar opinions.

I'm looking forward to talking to others about Jesus, making connections with people and understanding the Bible a little better.

Renee Satan hates women! Get used to that, but never get used to the fact that people tend to believe a good liar...Satan is a good liar....All through the bible you'll see women being used of God....Good women, strong women and for a woman to minister in the church or whereever is completely biblical..
The bible does speak against homosexuality but God still loves the people as we should....God is completely against sacrificing babies, and that's in the bible too....But we never never turn our backs on people....Jesus came for people, He loves people....

Mysogenistic churches....LOL Have you ever heard of a misandrist church? I think, nope....thats probably because men were easier to fool with those lies....Women are weak in other areas....Hugs on ya...and stick with Jesus....He is not a mysogenist either

Never never let the dumb ideas that Christians come up with lead you away from trusting God....God is not mysogenistic in the least....

This is up to you, my advice is simple, take it or leave it. It is just my advice.
Get a good and excellent early copyright NIV Study Bible pre 1987 maybe. [Thompson Chain Reference Bible] if you can find one. And start reading it for your self with a good and excellent Bible dictionary or Bible Encyclopedia. and asking GOD to teach you as you read.......... From the beginning "Genesis to Revelation" in that order. If you are serious, you should finish it in no more than 2 weeks as a novice. Showing GOD you are real and want to know the Truth. Now if you are serious, you will finish, In that allotted time. Which is plenty of time to do so for the serious of mind and heart. :pensive: Your seriousness has nothing to do with going to church and saying your prayers and all your lip service. Prove to GOD and yourself, that you are real concerning your convictions about getting to know HIS WORD.

PS. It will not be easy, it is a battle with plenty of Benefits. and REWARDS TO THOSE Who cross the Finish line at the allotted time.! First, before you begin the race "Count the Cost". it is going to take to finish the race. It will be a "Endurance" race. With many distractions. But with prayer, "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengths me":pensive:

Hello @Renee,

Good to see you. :)

Your age, marital status, and opinions are all to do with you 'in the flesh': what I look forward to seeing is what is manifest concerning you, 'in the spirit'.

What are you studying at present? Is there any particular portion of Scripture that you would like to discuss?

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Yeeeeeh. I would just recommend reading the Book of John. :) Read it, meditate on it, digest it. Genesis to Revelation is cramming in two weeks.

Hi @Renee,

I agree with Mayflower, John's gospel is a good place to start reading the word of God, it consists of a wonderful series of witness testimonies as to who Jesus is, and the work that He came to do. John tells us his purpose in writing his gospel in John 20:30-31:-

'And many other signs truly did Jesus
in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book:
But these are written,
that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God
and that believing
ye might have life through His name.'

Faith comes by 'hearing' and 'hearing' by the word of God. As you read with a heart open to receive it, and believe what you read, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ takes root and grows, and goes on growing.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Rene I know what you mean about churches that lie I was raised catholic when I was 30 I turned my back on that particular faith and became born again
