Missionaries in training with Gospel for Asia have spoken of the “privilege” they felt in suffering for Christ after being attacked on their Bible college campus in Mumbai, India, earlier in the month.
Seven students were seriously injured in the attack by suspected anti-Christian extremists on May 9.
They were preparing the evening meal when attackers armed with wooden sticks, iron rods and fluorescent light tubes stormed onto the campus, beating them and vandalising the buildings.
The students tried to speak to the assailants and find out why they were attacking them but got no answer.
Hemanti Kashyap was injured when the attackers hit him in the stomach with an iron rod. He said the incident had given him the chance to live out the difficult lessons he had learned in Bible college.

“Through this situation I learned what the Bible means when it says, “Blessed are those who suffer for Christ,” he said. “This opposition was the test of my faith to march forward and to share the Gospel. They hit my stomach with an iron rod and I was injured, but I am grateful to the Lord Jesus who kept me safe to be a witness for Him.”

Sunil Pattanayap recalls the moment the attack began: “For a moment I was shocked about why this was happening to me. Then I understood that the time had come for me to glorify His name,” he said.
“It was my privilege to suffer for Christ and I am happy today because I can testify that God protected me and brought me safe from death to proclaim His Word and stand as a living testimony for Christ with a strong faith.

Three of the injured students are still recovering in hospital. Beedram Sena had to undergo surgery on his broken leg, while Sudershan Yadavan required surgery to repair his broken kneecap. Sunil Reedy needed extensive dental surgery to replace teeth that were knocked out by the attackers.
Brijeshware Nayan, who was injured on his back but did not require hospitalisation, said the attack had helped him to see the spiritual value in suffering.

He said: “I came to serve the Lord. If we get scared of this opposition then how can we learn to grow up in our faith?”
The attackers broke windows and furniture in the campus buildings, and also destroyed teaching materials.
Gospel for Asia Vice President Daniel Punnose also took a positive stance towards the incident.

“While persecution is not uncommon and many of our people suffer greatly, the Lord has been so faithful to prove Himself by allowing our brothers and sisters to show love to those who need it the most,” he said.
“This type of persecution only proves that people need to experience the love of Jesus. It is only then they find their life has meaning and a purpose to turn hate into love.”

God Bless these wonderful examples of what it means to truly love God.
They will have their reward in Heaven :) I thought this would make at least some kind of good news, the news on the t.v is so depressing.

Father bless and keep our dear friends, use them for Your glory.
Thank You for keeping them in Jesus Name, amen.

Great story Dannibear, these workers know what it is to suffer for Christ. (Matthew 5:11-12; II Timothy 3:12)

"They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and let them go.

The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ." (Ac 5:40-42 NIV).

It is my hope and prayer that if and when my faith is tested as severely as these believers in India that I, too, will rejoice at being found worthy to suffer for the Name of Jesus and that I will keep my focus on the joy set before me; the joy of eternity with Him.

I don't know how they do it, keep standing against such opposition.

May God cover these men with his wings and keep them safe. Praying that out of this persecution a great witness will go forth and many will be saved. amen

I'm such a softy Christian here in Australia so cushioned from most of this kind of thing. I'm glad I am where I am. I want to be bolder and braver but I'm not!

I'm really impressed with GFA way. I even plan to immitate it. KP and the team are doing good Job. Also I find the by by Hans Kristian and Dave Hunt, it is very moving.

King Jesus, I pray you keep our dear brother and sisters who keep yuor name even with little strength they have, to make you known. Thank you because you never forsake us, but in all situations you carry us in your wings.
I thank you for that love, even in their big troubles and happiest moments. May you open hearts of their antagonists and unveil your grace. open their blindfolded spiritual eyes and help them escape hell fires. We love them and hope to see them in heaven.
In Jesus' Name I pray,
Amen

Joy In Martyrdom

Sweet tenants of this grove!

Who sing without design,

A song of artless love,

In unison with mine:

These echoing shades return

Full many a note of ours,

That wise ones cannot learn,

With all their boasted powers.

O thou! whose sacred charms

These hearts so seldom love,

Although thy beauty warms

And blesses all above;

How slow are human things,

To choose their happiest lot!

All-glorious King of kings,

Say why we love thee not?

This heart, that cannot rest,

Shall thine for ever prove;

Though bleeding and distressed,

Yet joyful in thy love:

'Tis happy though it breaks

Beneath thy chastening hand;

And speechless, yet it speaks,

What thou canst understand.

Love Increased by Suffering

Love Increased by Suffering

"I love the Lord," is still the strain

This heart delights to sing:

But I reply--your thoughts are vain,

Perhaps 'tis no such thing.

Before the power of love divine

Creation fades away;

Till only God is seen to shine

In all that we survey.

In gulfs of awful night we find

The God of our desires;

'Tis there he stamps the yielding mind,

And doubles all its fires.

Flames of encircling love invest,

And pierce it sweetly through;

'Tis filled with sacred joy, yet pressed

With sacred sorrow too.

Ah love! my heart is in the right--

Amidst a thousand woes,

To thee, its ever new delight,

And all its peace it owes.

Fresh causes of distress occur

Where'er I look or move;

The comforts I to all prefer

Are solitude and love.

Nor exile I nor prison fear;

Love makes my courage great;

I find a Saviour every where,

His grace in every state.

Nor castle walls, nor dungeons deep,

Exclude his quickening beams;

There I can sit, and sing, and weep,

And dwell on heavenly themes.

There sorrow, for his sake, is found

A joy beyond compare;

There no presumptuous thoughts abound,

No pride can enter there.

A Saviour doubles all my joys,

And sweetens all my pains,

His strength in my defence employs,

Consoles me and sustains.

I fear no ill, resent no wrong;

Nor feel a passion move,

When malice whets her slanderous tongue;

Such patience is in love.

By sufferings only can we know,
The nature of the life we live:
The trial of our souls, they show,
How true, how pure, the love we give.
To leave my love in doubt would be,
No less disgrace, then misery.

I welcome then, with heart sincere,
The Cross, My Savior bids me take:
No load, no trial is severe,
That's borne or suffered for His Sake:
And thus my sorrows shall proclaim,
A Love that is worthy Of The Name.

Peace be unto you all who posted about suffering for Christ.

These are a few poems that God inspired Madame Jeanne Guyon to write during and after her many years of persecution and imprisonment for Christ's sake. By The Grace of God, God gave her His WHOLEHEARTED FAITH IN JESUS AND JESUS ALONE FOREVER, as she was imprisoned in the infamous French Bastille in France for her WHOLEHEARTED faith and seeking and love of God Our Father and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone forever. :)

The link above is a link to what God taught her about the secret of Inner Prayer with Jesus In (Psalms91) The Secret Place Of The Most High and then Abiding in Christ (John15) as much as possible in this mortal life. It is a MUST READ for any one who is truly serious about truly reaching and truly abiding The True Promised Land of Quiet Rest in Jesus Himself forevermore.

And We For the Sake of Christ All Things Bear
A poem written by Fatima Al-Mutairi before her martyrdom

May the Lord Jesus guide you, Oh Muslims
And enlighten your hearts that you might love others
The forum does not revile the Master of the prophets
It is for the display of truth, and for you it was revealed
This is the truth which you do not know
What we profess are the words of the Master of the prophets
We do not worship the cross, and we are not possessed
We worship the Lord Jesus, the Light of the worlds

We left Mohammed, and we do not follow in his path
We followed Jesus Christ, the Clear Truth
Truly, we love our homeland, and we are not traitors
We take pride that we are Saudi citizens
How could we betray our homeland, our dear people?
How could we, when for death - for Saudi Arabia - we stand ready?
The homeland of my grandfathers, their glories, and odes - for it I am writing
And we say, "We are proud, proud, proud to be Saudis"
We chose our way, the way of the rightly guided
And every man is free to choose any religion
Be content to leave us to ourselves to be believers in Jesus
Let us live in grace before our time comes
There are tears on my cheek, and Oh! the heart is sad
To those who become Christians, how you are so cruel!
And the Messiah says, "Blessed are the Persecuted"
And we for the sake of Christ all things bear
What is it to you that we are infidels?
You do not enter our graves, as if with us buried
Enough - your swords do not concern me, not evil nor disgrace
Your threats do not trouble me, and we are not afraid
And by God, I am unto death a Christian - Verily
I cry for what passed by, of a sad life

I was far from the Lord Jesus for many years
Oh History record! and bear witness, Oh Witnesses!
We are Christians - in the path of Christ we tread
Take from me this word, and note it well
You see, Jesus is my Lord, and He is the Best of protectors
I advise you to pity yourself, to clap your hands in mourning
See your look of ugly hatred
Man is brother to man, Oh learned ones
Where is the humanity, the love, and where are you?
As to my last words, I pray to the Lord of the worlds
Jesus the Messiah, the Light of Clear Guidance
That He change notions, and set the scales of justice aright
And that He spread Love among you, Oh Muslims

I thank God for those whose eyes are so intent upon their Father that their love and peace shines through the darkest times. I have never experienced anything close to this. It makes me want to stop and close my mouth when I want to complain.

I thank God for these people! They will be in my prayers.

Amazing how many have died for their faith and we take it for granted here in America. We have so much freedom to serve our risen Savior but often are to busy to even go to church or read our bibles or even say a pray.

I believe that the powerful words this young lady penned just before her death indicate more than just a great love for Jesus; I believe they indicate that, in her last hours of life, she had a powerful experience of the manifold presence of Him in her room that wiped away all fear of death.

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

The Tribulations of Christian Rifqu Bary

R a f q a B a r y w w w.f a c e b o o k.c o m / pages / S a v i n g-Rifqa-Bary / 130947864432 Another former muslim girl, who converted to Christ in Amerca, is Rifqa Bary, could sure use all our prayers. Google her name Rafqa Bary for more info. Long story short. She was a young Muslim girl from Srilanka, who came to America when she was in her middle school years. She accepted Christ secretly in middle school through the witness of this Christian girl of Korean descent...and was a closet Christian for about 4 years. She used cheerleading practice as a cover for attending church for many years, until some people from her mosque who regularly search the internet for signs of any muslims getting out of line, discovered "evidence" of her Christian faith...and confronted her dad with a laptop full of "evidence", who held the laptop over her head in bed, and threatened to kill her. (For the record, authorities investigating her case found out later that all of her family is in the country illegally...surprise surprise). All this happenned last year, in the state of Ohio. Then she made a mad dash for freedom...first going to a church at Ohio State University and staying inside all day...because she was scared and didn't know what else to do. Then she prayed, God send me an angel to help me. Almost immediatedly, a security guard at the church told her it was near closing time and that she had to leave. She then called a youth pastor that she had met a few years before at a youth for Christ type rally. She said that she didn't know what she was gonna do or where she was gonna go...and thought about just going into hiding. Then she remembered a pastor that she had met of facebook...so the youth pastor with her...bought her a bus ticket to florida, and she wound up staying at another pastor's house with his wife and family for about 2-3 weeks...until her parents filed a missing persons and possible kidnapping report on her. So then, back in Summer of 2009, she went public on the news in florida, standing behind the pastor who took her in in Florida, with his wife, crying that if she went back to ohio, her muslim parents might do a so called mercy killing (Some mercy huh?) here or have her sent back to Srilanka and then do the mercy killing on her there. She had an in debt documented interview with the cops in florida, was eventually sent back to the state of Ohio, where she has become a pawn of the system, being presently a ward of the state of Ohio, as her (evil) muslim parents hire evil, tricky lawyers and sue the pastors that helped her escape harm, and then the same lawyers try to out manuever her in the legal system, trying to deport her back to Srilanka before August of 2010, when she turns 18. Latest development in Rafqa Bary case. She has reported been diagnosed with cancer of the uterus. And when her parents made a surprise visit with their lawyers to the hospital while she strapped down to the table, receiving treatment for cancer, she became emotionally upset, and had to be restrained further, and her parents and lawyer were asked to leave. And besides all this...rifqa's lawyers gave her bad legal advise and told her NOT to apply for political asylum, so now even if she survives and is not killed before her 18th birthday...the spiritual bastards have caused her to miss an important option that would have allowed her to stay here in the country. And her own lawyers have advised her NOT to visit any of her Christian friends who have helped her in the past...advice Thank God that she didn't listen too. (It Is Written, in Hebrews12:8) "If you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not (adopted) sons of God, (Ephesians2:8,9) by God's Grace alone forever, through faith in Christ Jesus alone forever (Galatian3:26). Thank God, It Is Written, in Psalms 66:7, "The Lord rules by His Power forever."

The Joy of the Cross - God Inspired Poem by Jeanne Guyo

The Joy of the Cross - God Inspired Poem by Jeanne Guyon Long plunged in sorrow, I resign My soul to that dear hand of thine, Without reserve or fear; That hand shall wipe my streaming eyes; Or into smiles of glad surprise Transform the falling tear. My sole possession is thy love; In earth beneath, or heaven above, I have no other store; And, though with fervent suit I pray, And importune thee night and day, I ask thee nothing more. My rapid hours pursue the course Prescribed them by love's sweetest force, And I thy sovereign will, Without a wish to escape my doom; Though still a sufferer from the womb, And doomed to suffer still. By thy command, where'er I stray, Sorrow attends me all my way, A never-failing friend; And, if my sufferings may augment Thy praise, behold me well content-- Let sorrow still attend! It cost me no regret, that she, Who followed Christ, should follow me, And though, where'er she goes, Thorns spring spontaneous at her feet, I love her, and extract a sweet From all my bitter woes. Adieu! ye vain delights of earth, Insipid sports, and childish mirth, I taste no sweets in you; Unknown delights are in the cross, All joy beside to me is dross; And Jesus thought so too. The cross! Oh, ravishment and bliss-- How grateful e'en its anguish is; Its bitterness how sweet! There every sense, and all the mind, In all her faculties refined, Tastes happiness complete. Souls once enabled to disdain Base sublunary joys, maintain Their dignity secure; The fever of desire is passed, And love has all its genuine taste, Is delicate and pure. Self-love no grace in sorrow sees, Consults her own peculiar ease; 'Tis all the bliss she knows; But nobler aims true Love employ; In self-denial is her joy, In suffering her repose. Sorrow and love go side by side; Nor height nor depth can e'er divide Their heaven-appointed bands; Those dear associates still are one, Nor till the race of life is run Disjoin their wedded hands. Jesus, avenger of our fall, Thou faithful lover, above all The cross has ever borne! Oh, tell me,--life is in thy voice-- How much afflictions were thy choice, And sloth and ease thy scorn! Thy choice and mine shall be the same, Inspirer of that holy flame Which must for ever blaze! To take the cross and follow thee, Where love and duty lead, shall be My portion and my praise.

I am glad to see that they are in good spirits with the persecution that they suffer from. We must pray for them.
