I am a Christian. At least, having Christ as my example, I'm doing my best to make it so.
I know, even as I am being sanctified, through the Word of Truth, that by one sacrifice, Jesus has made me perfect, in perpetuity, and will present me, without spot or wrinkle, to God; that I partake of the divine nature, and so, share in unimaginable glory, power, and authority that await all who strive to obtain it.
I believe the Bible remains the Word of God, no matter how corrupt, the lying pen of today's scribes, have made it. As long as we put line upon line, precept upon precept; here a little, there a little, with a dash of the Holy Spirit; God, thunderously speaks to those, with an ear to hear.
It is, as the Psalmist, puts it: The Sum of Your Words, is truth. Why? Because, it is impossible to screw the whole thing up; the light, always gets through. Hmm, unless you do what the Mormons did. Realizing the aforementioned, they simply chose to write a completely "Different Testament of Jesus"; an obviously fraudulent work of Satan, and yet, they have fooled millions.
But that is not, the thing. The thing is this: As we read, whatever flavor of the the bible we read, it is God's hope that we go from faith, to faith, in the knowledge of him, as exhibited through Christ; and that as we grow in that knowledge, we then dig deeper into the source and accuracy of what we think we know and understand; that we might cement ourselves, in certitude, upon the rock (Christ) that is the corner stone, in the temple of God.
As we mature, in Christ, we may and should grow beyond inaccurate doctrines and error-prone bibles that were expertly tailored, to ensure that we uphold long-established traditions of men, above the message comported by the Spirit of the Word.
Yes, we must listen to the Spirit, as we read the words of any given bible; else, we run the risk of being veered away from God's intended message, by the very words we read; some of which, were intentionally slanted, to affirm a particular doctrine or another, as held by any given bible publishing house.
It is for that very reason, the Holy Spirit, speaks to us, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little; by harmonious constellations of verses, God clearly speaks to the heart of all, whose ears are open to truth, no matter where it leads; even when truth leads, contrary to long held beliefs.
Oh, by the way. That line upon line stuff, it is also so that the individual, whose heart-for the love of religious traditions-is hardened against truth, might never understand; so as, to inherit the curse and wrath of God, revealed from heaven, against all who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
Faith, overcomes fear. Faith, in Truth that is the word of God, as affirmed by the Holy Spirit, overcomes all fears; especially, of rejection and persecution, meted out by Haters of Truth; most of whom, being of one's own religious circles, family, and peers. But then, narrow is the gate that leads to the knowledge, of God and Christ, that demarcates the way is of salvation.
Well now, there's your peek into what floats my boat.
