Noticed a thread about cigarette smoking. So i thought i would saddle up my high horse. My high horse has very long legs which enables me to look down on almost everyone else. Most people are unaware that coffee drinking is addictive, a drug, yes.

If you drink coffee, tea, cola or indulge in the occasional piece of chocolate, then you're using a drug. Believe it or not, caffeine has the same pharmacological effects on the body as many of the substances we associate with doing harm. Of course, coffee is so well integrated into our culinary culture that we barely give its health effects a second thought.

I am a cappuccino addict, have been for a very long time. My minister was also addicted to coffee, as well as numerous others in my church.

My mother's heart specialist stated "If he had the say, he would ban coffee. It causes strokes and heart problems."

What is your opinion?

Dear HappyHarold.

Read your link, 90% of Americans drink coffee. Somehow, my campaign to rid the Churches of this drug is doomed to failure.

Guess i will just have to return to the true Gospel. Jesus gave His life for the wicked, i will beat my chest and ask for forgiveness. Because i just cannot be Holy enough. My holiness will just have to be the Holiness that Jesus offers and not my own. A Holiness that Jesus provides and not my own self righteous Holiness.

Hello Strawberry.

Hope your well. What is "I heart coffee.", i will assume you mean "hate". Yes, coffee is not the drug, caffeine is. Sorry for the generalization. Can I ask whether you like chocolate?

Hi!!!

I LOVE chocolate! Coffee + Chocolate, oh my!! :D

p.s., Heart = Love

Dear Strawberry.

Yummy, I have to agree. Every Christmas my sisters only buy me chocolate. Anything else is unacceptable. I will die young but happy.

Coffee is a Drug

The coffee is good for stimulation the nerves, and some individuals take it too far by drinking many cups of coffee daily. That's drug abuse when one tries to over dose on a substance.

I believe coffee fits right into this. Please read this and decide. If you can bless it,you can drink it! Rom 14:13-23 Hope this helps!

Just like the above verse says---It's ok while you have it---But when it has you it is a different story.

Is Wikipedia not an acceptable source for a link---Just curious why it was removed so I won't violate again

Never mind---I just got a pm and a warning for not asking permission to post a link---I just thought you needed 100 posts---My bad.

Yes i heard from many people that it is a drug and there is a caffeine in it and caffeine attracts and we must not be addicted of coffee.

Not to argue semantics, but caffeine is a chemical substance, however while some might say it is a drug, a more accurate term would be poison, pesticide in fact.

The caffeine is produced within the endosperm layer of the seed for the purpose of providing nutrients to the angiosperm (seed embryo) while protecting it also from insects which are repelled by the effects the caffeine has upon their nervous system.

Simply stated, it is the wine of the devils vine that Jesus spoke of in which he stated he would no longer drink of the wine of the vine. (I just made this part up cause I hate myself sometimes.)

why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

Consuming too much caffeine can be a drug. One caffeine product a day is a good amount. Balance is a good thing in every area of our lives.

Hi Elliot I agree, caffeine can be an addiction no matter what the caffeine product is.

If coffee's a drug then I'm a drugee. I've cut down, however. I try to drink more water than anything else.

My dear 'bride' of 45 years....Brenda, ..... and I regularly go out for a scenery change at the week-end. We visit a place of interest in hill or dale and take a seat.

My wife will have a coffee with poured cream, and I will order a 'pot of tea' for one. Last weekend we included......a scone/cream/and strawberrys.

My wife is a 'coffee' lady from dawn throughout the day...

I am a tea drinker....and it it so refreshing........I almost die for a cup of tea at times.

I don't think that Coffee is a drug... Perhaps it could be if it begins to become addictive towards your personality. The cafene is a drug, yes, but does it do any harm?
Drink it with moderation and not excess and I don't believe that it is in any way negative. I don't even know of any "Hard" facts that coffee is negative towards the body in any way.

I'm both a coffee drinker and green tea, both of which are a much better alternative than alcohol.
