Ok, Im going to try and ask this so it makes sense, so bear with me..
What is "Bondage" and how can you know if someone is in bondage or just being rebellious when it comes to behavior that they are trying to change... I am specifically speaking about someone who is smoking.. says they want to stop, prays for help in stopping but just cant seem to do it..

Bondage is when we become a slave to a behavior or habit.

Please note.
We can do all things through Christ, we are nothin without him. Our remedies will never work, but with him on our side there is always victory.

Prayer changes everything.
Pray with a change of attitude, and total surrender of one's life to God.

"The Word of God states that a life of victory is possible. This is crucial, because victory is only possible for those who believe that it is possible. Once I believe this, I can and will start seeking victory; and if I seek it, I will find it."

Breaking a habit is very difficult especially an addictive one and the flesh will not be willing to give it up.
Pray the following words - "Father make me willing to be willing" and believe that He will help you break free of this bondage.

Blessings!

Also they have to WANT to change it. Bondage is when you become slave to a sin, but if they don't want to get out of sin, Jesus can't change them because He doesn't mess with free will.

I've been praying that my dad gets right with God for years, but he doesn't want to quit smoking. We've tried everything, but he's not willing to give it up. Sad to say, but true.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back online, I just want to thank you all for responding. I guess as always the only answer is in prayer. I liked your prayer suggestion Ann and Chad I thank you for directing me to those resources. Again, thanks to everyone who responded and God Bless you.
