complete sacraments to achieve salvation? how many?
how about going to confession? won't Jesus forgive my sins if i pray to him?
sorry for the 'noob' questions, have only been a Christian for about 5 months, trying to get some info

Is it it neccessary

The only requirement for you to be saved or know Jesus is confess him as your Lord and Savior. See Roman 10:9-13. You do not have to do anything or work to maintain your salvation so Jesus will love you. Its a free gift you accept by faith.

I John 1: 9 tells us that when we sin we have an advocate with the Father. Or one who represents us. Its Jesus. When we blow it, we go before God and thank him that Jesus bore the penalty of the sin you committed and he will cleanse your conscience from the unrighteous act. You do not have to pay penance or work your way back into Gods good graces.

God bless you,

Kevin

These questions sound like Catholicism to me.

In the Bible, it says 'as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup.' There is no said amount. The wording might be a bit different in the Bible...I'll look it up online. Here it is...

1 Corinthians 11:26
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Confession is a Catholic thing. Yes, if you pray to Jesus and ask for forgiveness and repent He will forgive you of your sins. There is no need to go to a priest.

The "sacraments" are not available to those who have accepted Jesus Christ and receive His salvation in the first place. They are not open to unbelievers.

So, don't worry about it. Our salvation is by the shed blood of Jesus applied over our sin. When we repent and turn to Christ and follow after Him in life, then we have received salvation. That is what the exciting Gospel message is all about! It is a free gift of God! There is nothing you or I can do to earn salvation except by accepting the free gift of God.

Regarding "confession", we only confess to God through Jesus Christ, our ONLY mediator. He forgives every time!

1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.

There are people in the Roman Catholic church who believe that one has to jump through liturgical hoops in order to be saved. I know because I grew up in the Catholic church. I've learned since then that Ro 10:9-10 NIV sets the matter straight. Welcome to TalkJesus.
