Such a question can probably only be answered on a small town local level politics. There the people would personally know the politician and would know whether he was truly a believer.

As one goes up the ladder in politics, then they must use the politically correct language and share the politically correct views to gain or stay in power. Thus, as to exactly who they are and what they believe becomes blurred.

But the Bible says we will know them by their fruits.
If this is true, the current leader of the US regularly prays and attends Christian worship services.
He has a Christian vice-president. This administration supports Israel.
This administration has fought against liberalism.
This administration has fought against, and even outlawed abortion in some states.
This administration hasn't added any new laws supporting homosexuality, and has actually reduced some national level laws supporting this.
This administartion is against Muslim terrorism and ISIS.
This administration opposes free-immigration to people who want to change the Christian-Judeo values of this country.

It's hard to be sure... but it seems like He is a Christian.

I know of a few in each of the main political parties in the UK. There's a significant difference here to America in that religious affiliation of any kind is not a vote-winner. That sweeps away much of the motivation for politicians to overstate their faith in a hypocritical way.

A couple of years ago the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party - a Christian - resigned because his personal belief against same-sex marriage became such a distraction. Whenever he went on TV or Radio he'd be endlessly questioned on this issue, with the result that his policies rarely got discussed in detail.

It is shameful that anyone should be afraid of sharing their faith, and despicable that media demonize those who do, sounds like your UK media is just as terrible as in the US.

Yes in the Netherlands there are some who are really christian. But they don't have much to say. Not many ppl vote for them.

I think in many countries Christian politicians are concerned to make known their faith. It is the same in many work place situations also, so they all tend to keep faith and work separate, where possible. Is it right to do so, not really, they are not putting their lamp on a table or stand for all to see.

But the media are cruel, this week Trump made three statements in twitter, the media took it all out of context and banged world wise news that Trump thinks he is the chosen one. What he said was, someone had to take on China, I happen to be the one that did it, I am the chosen one. He could choose his words better I am sure, but we are all different and Donald Trump is Donald Trump.

Back to the UK my friend, I am aware of the politician you mention, it is sad that people have to stand down from their jobs because of world or country opinion that has pressured the law to change to allow these sins to fester and grow.

I recall a sports person in Australia in the last few month, I cannot remember who the person was as I do not follow sport, well except Formula 1, he spoke out agains same sex and homosexuals and lost is job as a result of speaking out and letting the Truth be know.

In the latter days of the end times, now, scripture tells us, it will appear the devil has domain.

Thanks for the statement, especially to Trump! It's interesting to see how the media wants to push him down. You are right, he's not using the best words and sometimes he seems to be ignorant. But I'm sure he is not the worst that could happen to the USA. He is doing a better job than the media wants to tell us!

Certainly not using the right words. I've seen the retweet that links him to the King of Israel and the second coming of God. Does he not know that the throne of the king of Israel is already occupied?

This was what I read in Sky News.

Trump quoted what Mr Root had said...

Mr Trump quoted Mr Root as saying: "President Trump is the greatest president for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world…

"And the Jewish people in Israel love him… like he's the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God."

After quoting Mr Root, the president added: "Wow!"

With so much anti-semitism in the world it is great to see a government stand up for them.
