I feel like God wants me to tell my church about a very personal battle i went through, but im so afraid. I feel like if i tell the church I will be put to shame and my ministry in the church will be gone. I am the song leader in my youth and I love my church, it's my life. But I feel my past will change all that. I know God has forgave me and deliverd me and it's all in his sea of forgetfulness, and thats why I dont understand why God wants me to do this. If it is God telling me, i feel maybe id be helping others with the same battle, but this is something the church doesnt speak of. I have been seeking God and I feel it is right, but my family has turned against me and they said shame will come on me and i'm so confused. This is something that can become a changeing point in my life...but maybe I need a change. Do you think this is the devil trying to rob me of my ministry? Or does this sound like God? If someone would please give me some advice I would be so grateful...TY AND GOD BLESS :).

There is no shame in any testimony that gives glory to Jesus Christ and His grace ~ but no one here can tell you whether God wants you to share your testimony with your entire fellowship, that is a decision that rests between you and God alone. I do tend to follow the old adage "if you dont know what to do, dont do nothing" (a wise old man of God once told me that) Obviously if this is causing you so much distress and confusion, you need to wait until you are certain. You can put a fleece out to God, and ask Him to show you if this is something He is asking you to do.

Ty very much, and i will do that. I will continue to press in for an answer and will stick my head up high no matter what the answer is. I know God will never lead us wrong, so I will trust him. If you could, would you please praye for me? To have an answer and to find the courage to do whatever God will ask me to do? Ty very much for taking your time to reply to me, and I pray God blesses you!!

You`re welcome, and I have prayed for you little Sister ~ God will answer you.

That is a tough one. I believe if God wants you to share this He will give you a confirming word.

Try a fleece, see below, its not a sin to question God...

Jdg 6:36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
Jdg 6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; [and] if the dew be on the fleece only, and [it be] dry upon all the earth [beside], then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
Jdg 6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
Jdg 6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
Jdg 6:40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

God bless

A lot of agreement here... I just remembered David, before he would go into any battle.. he would always inquire of the Lord... I never read a portion where David was defeated in his battles... Amen..Praise the Lord..

Father God, we pray give our dear Sister a confirmation that comes from Your Word...... Thank you for Your Word would serve as a lamp to her feet and a light to her path preserving her life and her ministry Lord... We give you praise and glory Father.. In Jesus name.. Amen

God bless you beloved Sister... God loves you..

Sister in Christ,

Ty to all you guys!! It really helped me!! And thank you for those who prayed for me :). I layed a fleece out last night and prayed. It was funny because while i was praying on the fleece, god toled me to have my sister pray with me bcuz she has a word..i never toled her when i called her to me. But as we were praying god gave me a confirming word through my sister! And praise the lord!! God always gives us the answers! We just have to press in to get it :)! God toled her to give me the scripture,"be of good cheer! It is i; do not be afraid." mark 6:43...so i guess that answers if this is from god or not!! Lol ty all n god bless!! And if you could, pray for me to have courage and strength to go before the church with my testimony...ty ty ty!!

Ty so much for your prayers! And i pray that you are blessed and god meets all your needs too :). Love you sister!

I just wanted to encourage you to continue on the path that God has set for you...for all of us!

He will hold you up. It is very sad when someone has a testimony, people will see that person differently, like they aren't who God says they are anymore. BUT we are! Jesus, is walking with you, holding you hand. Saying' Child, I got you. I won't let you fall.

God will give you all you ask in His time. It might not be the same thing you wanted, but it will be the BEST thing. Know that God goes with you.

Abba Father,

May the words this sister speaks be the words you would have her to say. May her words speak to someone's heart and that this experience will open up doors for her. I ask a blessing upon her and her house that whatever they touch, YOU would bless it. I ask that you would open the flood gates of Heaven and pour out your Spirit on us all. I'm asking this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen!

Go and do as God has said. Don't look back, but ahead. I'm SO excited to hear what God will do this year!

Blessings to all,
Jen aka G4G

Ty...that really encouraged me :). I will stay strong know matter what! I mean his is God after all!! lol ty so much fro your prayers :D. I wanna pray for you too!!

LORD MY GOD,

Touch your daughter right now and bless her wherever she may go. May you bring people to encourage her, as she did me. May she trust you Lord, seek you, and find you in your name. And i pray you fill her with joy, peace, and gladness where ever she may be. And you hear her prayers and touch her family. May she has the faith that moves mountains. Thank you for sending her my way and all the people on talkjesus!! W trust and know that you hear our prayers...TY GOD. In your mighty name Lord Jesus, AMEN. :)

Do not hesitate, be open.
Heb 12:5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him;
Heb 12:6 for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives."
Heb 12:7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
Heb 12:8 But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons.
Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
Heb 12:10 For truly they chastened us for a few days according to their own pleasure, but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness.
Heb 12:11 Now chastening for the present does not seem to be joyous, but grievous. Nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are exercised by it.

Is this God

Sister, if God has taken your past and thrown it into the sea of forgetfulness, then he will not have you bringing it up and bringing it before the church. I think Satan will use it to your disadvantage.

In the old testament, people had to put fleece's out to hear from God or get direction. Under the new Covenant, You have the very spirit of God indwelling you and you now have the mind of Christ. Your direction from God will come by the direction of the Holy Spirit within and he will lead you by peace. He is not the author of confusion,

God does not lead us by fear, nor will he ask you to expose past sins.Remember, God leads, and Satan drives people.

If you come upon a person who has had the same problem you had in the past, AND if God leads you to help them by revealing you went through the same problem, then keep it between you and the other person.

Sister, be very careful with this. If you are feeling such pressure, I can assure you God will not torment you with what he has already forgiven you of.

I do not think you should expose yourself before the church. God has forgiven you, and he considers you a new creation in Christ. Your own words revealed that your in leadership. If the people of the church can not forgive you as God has, why would you reveal your past to them?

Take your time on this one sister. Remember, Jesus paid for your sins, and you do not have to do penance by confessing it before the church. Especially if it is a past issue! God forgiven you, move forward and stop looking behind you. Immerse yourself in your gifts and forget about the past.
