Jesus As Healer

But He was wounded for our trangressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed - Isaiah 53:5

God sees the wounds you bear, whether you have endured them for years or have only recently acquired them. He has provided the means to close them and promote health and healing--not a closing over that only fosters infection from within. Instead, He provides complete healing and wholeness. This can happen only because the Healer, Jesus Christ, took on Himself the physical and emotional chastisement that the Father's justice demanded. He who became flesh allowed His flesh to be murdered.

Incredibly, His death brings restoration. His suffering brings peace. His wounds bring health. Thank Jesus that by His stripes you have been healed.

God Bless,

Dan

Father I thank you that you are the God that forgives my iniquities and heals my diseases. Surely Jesus bore sickness and disease for me and by his stripes I was healed. Jesus healed all that came to him, I came to him and by his stripes we were healed. Iniquities won't come on me a second time. All sickness and disease are part of the curse, but Jesus became a curse for me as all who hang on a tree are cursed. I have been redeemed from the curse of the law and enjoy the blessings of Abaraham.

I speak in the past tense Dan.....I am believing that the work has already been done for my healing. Lord I rest upon your word. Amen

Yes, Brother Stephen. You are correct. We ARE healed. Its just a matter of accepting it and thanking God for it.

That is just about the first thing I do everyday. I pray and thank God for everyone I know that all aches and pains, illnesses and diseases are removed in Jesus name.

God Bless,

Dan

But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings - Malachi 4:2

At the close of his prophecy, Malachi painted a beautiful picture of God from nature; He is like the sun rising in the morning with rays like wings reaching out and bringing the warmth of healing. In a similar fashion, David's last words vividly portrays He who is the Light of the world: "The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. . . He shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, by clear shining after rain" - 2 Samuel 23:2-4.

Nature inspired David as he thought of the restorative qualities of water. His words have been considered prophetic, speaking as Malachi did of the coming Messiah, but this time likening Him to rain promoting the growth of healthy grass.

Both Malachi and David pointed to the sun as a means to point us to the Son. Just as the lack of sunlight can seriously affect our physical and mental health, especially those with seasonal affective disorder, being cut off from the Son's light can bring us to the spiritual depths. Jesus brings us healing, if we will open our eyes and souls to His warmth and power.

We too need His love and power to wash over us with His healing waters. We need the Sun of Righteousness to warm us as well as to cleanse and burn away the sin and sickness. Turn your eyes to the morning sun, remembering Jesus the Morning Star, the Sun of Righteousness, who desirs to enter your life with healing in His wings.

God Bless,

Dan

"But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the paralytic, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." - Mark 2:10, 11

Illness and disability can be lonely. Those faced with such difficulty often find themselves disengaged. People are uncomfortable with another's infirmities.

Not so for this paralyzed man. Perhaps he had an optimistic personality that kept his friends close by; maybe his friends were simply extraodinary men. In any case, these five heard that Jesus was in town, and nothing would stop them from getting to him. Faced with a crowd that filled the house, they didn't give up. "To the roof!" one of them yelled. And so they went, carrying their paralyzed friend up, removing a portion of the roof, and then lowering him right down in front of Jesus.

The Gospel account reveals an interesting aspect of Jesus' mininstry: "When Jesus saw their faith" - Mark 2:5. Not just the paralytic's faith, but the faith of his loyal friends as well. All of them trusted the Healer. What a joy it must have been for Jesus to look up at the uneven hole in the roof at four smiling, expectant faces, knowing He could do as they trusted. What a joy to send the paralytic home on his own two feet. And imagine the joy of the four men, whooping and hollering as they scrambled off the roof to rejoin their friend!

Jesus the Healer welcomes you into the process--to visit, to pray for, to be a loyal friend to those who are facing disability or illness. Whether physical healing comes or not, you will have the joy of serving your Lord by caring for your friend. Jesus the Healer will work through you.

God Bless,

Dan

"Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years . . . came from behind and touched the border of his garment. . . And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well, Go in peace." - Luke 8:43, 44, 48

Twelve years of suffering. Twelve years of shame. For twelve years this woman had endured the label of "unclean." The Law of Moses was clear about impurity - Leviticus 15:19-24. Her constant bleeding made not only her unclean, but also everyone and everything that touched her. Imagine her courage--and her faith--to go into a crowd where she must have touched many people, and then to actually reach out and touch this rabbi! Clearly she was desperate.

This woman received healing. The apostle Paul, however, was not healed. He begged to be set free from his "thorn in the flesh," but God said no. "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness - 2 Corinthians 12:9.

We cannot know why Jesus the Healer sometimes does not heal. The issue for us, the wounded and broken, is to put our faith firmly in Him and let it remain there, enduring His often protracted timetable, allowing for the mystery of how He defines healing for us, willing to say with Paul, "Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me" - 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Jesus does not want you to spiritualize away your pain or pretend it does not matter. He does want you to continue to trust Him to do the kind of healing that you need right now. He does answer your cries for healing in ways you sometimes can experience immediately and in ways you may not realize till you meet Him in heaven.

In either case, you can be willing to "go in peace," for the power of Christ rests upon you.

God Bless,

Dan

"When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, "Go wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. - John 9:6, 7

Just imagine the conversation if all of those who had experienced Jesus' healing got together for lunch. . .

The man in this story says, "A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.' So I went and washed, and I received my sight" - John 9:11.

"Wow! My experience was different," interjects the man from Bethsaida. "Clay? For me, He just spit in my eyes and put His hands on me. And the healing came in stages--at first everything was all fuzzy" - Mark 8:22-26.

"I don't know how important the 'doing it in stages' is," another man chimes in, "but He definitely has to touch your eyes. That's what happened to my friend and me when Jesus gave us back our sight" - Matthew 9:27-31.

Another says, "Hey, that sounds just like what happened to those guys in Jericho. Maybe that's how He had to do it when He's healing two blind people at once" - Matthew 20:29-34
.
"He didn't even have to touch me," pipes up the young servant of the centurion. "My master told me He just spoke a word--and that's when I got better!" - Matthew 8:5-13.

What's the secret to being healed? Is there only one secret? Is there even an secret? Jesus is the secret. His "authorized method" is faith, not formulas. Come to Him and rely on His compassion and His power--and leave the details to Him.

God Bless,

Dan

How can people get healed when they don't fully trust in the healing power of Jesus? they go to the doctor and trust in medicine and at the same time say they trust in the stripes of Jesus for their healing. faith don't work like that.

Faith doesn't mean you don't see a doctor. Faith means that you pray for healing first and if healing doesn't come on the spot, go to the doctor.

In Matthew 9:29, Jesus said to the two blind men that He was about to heal:

"According to your faith let it be to you."

So, how did they get healed? Was it Jesus who healed them or was it their faith?

If your 'faith' is in doctors, "let it be to you."

I don't believe one can pray, have faith for healing, and all the while, in the back of his mind, think "if this doesn't work, right now, I can always go to the doctor."

Could it be that the hardest thing about being 'healed' is the waiting. That, I believe, is where the 'faith' comes in.

Amen to that...I believe this and what a pain it is to wait. It surely exercies one's faith. I like the challenge, but its very hard sometimes.

But which doctor can we trust the most? The one who calls Himself Healer. Jesus Christ!

An Amen and amen to that, Chad. The only thing, really, I can trust the earthly doctor with is my yearly physical. I go for an exam every year to see if some evil spirit has invaded my body. Then, if I discover their is a problem in my body, I now have some concrete reason to ask The Great Physician for a specific healing. However, the best healing is to thank Him everyday for health.

God Bless,

Dan

Below is part of a song that fits with this with, I think it's called Amazing Love, unsure though.

"I'm forgiven, because You were forsaken.
I'm accepted, You were condemned.
I'm alive and well, Your spirit lives within me, beacuse You died and rose again."

Praise God, it is so!

Do you think this is the difference between what happened to the 9 lepers who left without ever thanking Jesus & the one that came back & did?

I am also reminded of the paralyzed man, whose friends lowered him through the roof so Jesus could heal him. Jesus told the man, their faith has healed you. The faith, and intercessory prayers of others can also lead to healing from God! Praise God.

Yes, Truth, you're right. It's all about Faith. I related that exact story you mentioned earlier:

"But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the paralytic, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." - Mark 2:10, 11
