SignUp Now!The Scripture passages are all in support of what I stated in the meme. Whenever I write something, most always I give Scriptures to support what I said so that people can test what I am saying against what the Scriptures teach and so that they can read further on the subject and learn more if they so desire to learn more. And the purpose of the meme is to give a short summary of the reason for Jesus to be born as a baby into this world, to share who he was and is and his purpose for coming, and how that was fulfilled in his death and resurrection. It is kind of like taking Handel's Messiah and scrunching it all down into one paragraph, essentially, but not exactly. It is a synopsis of the gospel. Does that answer your question? And thank you, Bill, for reading and for responding and for asking your question. Much appreciated.Thank you for all the scripture passages, but I'm curious what were your intentions, what is your message?
Often people will post scripture without posting anything in thier own words. And although i love the scripture, i do like to hear peoples thoughts as well. The Scripture passages are all in support of what I stated in the meme. The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit is given to us to teach us all things pertaining to Christ, to counsel, to help, etc. It teaches us that if we are true children of God that we are those being led of the Spirit of God (I think that one is in Romans 8). So to be led of the Spirit and for him to teach us requires that we are able to hear him in our spirits. And how else will we know what our spiritual gifts are and our callings of God and our body parts if we are not led of the Spirit. But this should agree with the Word of God, as a whole, i.e. it must not contradict the Scriptures. There is much abuse of this where people are saying that they were led of the Spirit to do what is not of the Spirit, like for example the fruit of the Spirit includes "self-control." So anything which causes us to do something out-of-control, would be considered not to be of the Spirit, from what I understand of what the Scriptures teach. And we must test the spirits to see whether or not they are of God, for other voices speak to us, too. Thank you so much, Bill, for your kind and thoughtful response. Tell me, can we say that everything we are to be taught can be found in scripture? If yes, then why do we need to have the Holy Spirit to continue to teach us? Also if yes, why would both the Apostles and scripture state, not all Jesus spoke was written therein?
Something to think about, bill.
God's love always

Bill, thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. All glory to God.That was very well stated. Excellent
You are absolutely correct to say what the Spirit should tell us works in the scripture, as the scripture is the guideline of the foundation of our souls with Jesus as the cornerstone
