Acts 2:36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Acts 10:36
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

Psalms 103:19
The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Jesus is Lord, what does that mean to you. Well, Lord means supreme in authority, controller. So, there is no higher authority than the authority of Jesus. Look at what else it says about Jesus in Colossians 1:15-18 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. That word preeminence means to be 1st in rank. So, to be 1st in rank means that his authority rules over all other authorities. Those definitions are very important to keep in mind because the one with the highest authority has the final say. In Ephesians 1:19-23 it says 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

So, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father far above all things which means there is nothing in this world nor the world to come that will ever be anywhere close to the authority of Jesus. Now, I brought all of that to your attention to show you this, that you share in that authority in him not you on your own. Because, in Ephesians 2:6 it says, 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Now, why do you think God did that. Authority gives you the final say and all things under your authority are to obey. Which was God's intention from the beginning when He created man. You see in Genesis 1:26-28: 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. The centurion in Matthew 8:8,9 knew that that's why it says, 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. He knew Jesus had the final say and that sickness had to obey. Did you notice that you operate in this authority with your words. God gave you this authority for you to speak. When you come into the circumstances of life you need to speak.

Look at what Jesus said in Matthew 16:19 AMP I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.” You operate in the authority of the kingdom of heaven with your words. The kingdom of heaven has to work through man to have legal access into the earth. God needs your tongue. What did Jesus say in John 14:13,14, And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. In his name includes in his authority like in Act 3:6-8: 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And it's not just the name, but faith in the name of Jesus as it says in Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. All the authority of heaven works in the earth realm by mans words because God gave man the authority in the earth. Look at Psalm 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. So, the authority of heaven has to work through man for it to work legally in the earth. And God gives us a powerful invitation in Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

God gave us the invitation to speak in the name of the Lord Jesus. Notice, in the name(authority) of the Lord Jesus. In the name of the Lord Jesus is to speak with the supreme authority, there is no other authority no where close to it. Notice, who Jesus is in Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. As he is the head so are we in him and as he is so are we in this world 1 John 4:17. This is a subject very important to the body of Christ. The authority of the body of Christ in the earth. As a born again Christian you have a right to use the power and authority of Jesus to do his works while He is seated at the right hand of the Father. God raised us up through Jesus. When Jesus walked the earth He took authority over things as a man anointed by God. And as such as the Roman Centurion said "All you have to do is speak" for things to obey him (Matthew 8:8,9). And He passed his authority to his disciples Matthew 10:1,7,8-- And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. And with that authority they went out and did the works of Jesus. Jesus passed on his authority by his words. And as He authorized them He authorized us. The only question is do you believe. John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The church has that authority whether you use it or not is up to you. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18,19 All power(authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, he told them to go in that authority. Understand in Ephesians 1:22 it says God has put all things under the feet(authority) of Jesus and since they are under his feet they are under our feet(authority). He is the head and we are the body of Christ. So what the head wants to do He has to do it through his body the church. So whatever you ask(command) in his name you should expect to be done just as if Jesus was speaking. When you speak in Jesus name you are speaking from your level of authority in Christ not within yourself. Now, when God first made man He gave man dominion over all the earth. That's why Jesus had to come as a man. A man got us in this mess (the curse) so a man had to get us out. Because God gave man dominion He authorized man to operate in the earth. That's why have you noticed when Jesus was raised from the dead he didn't heal one person, he didn't cast out one demon, he didn't do one miracles and that's because he had his glorified body and God only authorized those with a physical body to have dominion. So whatever Jesus wants to do He has to do through you, his body. Jesus backs you, that's why He said Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Notice, that it starts with you so if there's something going on in your body speak to it, if there's something going on in your family speak to it, if it's something going on in your home speak to it in the Name of Jesus.

It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
