I have realized recently just how faithful our Lord is. I never really "got it" before. I knew He would never forsake us, but...I never could see beyond my own fear of the unknown and get close enough to Him. Boy, was I holding back for nothing.
See, we just moved into our new home about 1.5 months ago. Even though I anticipate change & embrace it, I don't handle it very good sometimes. Makes me a bit topsy turvy. And you all know what happens when you are not in a good state...the enemy likes to try and attack you. Satan saw this as a prime opportunity to try & bring me down. I am doing wonderfully now, but for about 2 weeks I was not all here. Constantly worrying over every little thing, rational & irrational. Especially health & salvation issues. I found that others were struggling like me around that time, so something must've been goin' on.
Anyway...on to the story of how He showed me just how great He is.
Have you ever had one of those dreams where when you wake up, you are paralyzed? When I was younger, it happened all the time, but has dwindled since I've grown. I started researching this frightening thing and found a few answers...either I was waking up during a deep stage of REM, or I was being attacked by a demon. The latter could explain why they started happening again, but when I was younger, I wasn't deep in my walk, but maybe Satan knew I was on my way. Moving on...
I had a dream I was in a very large, unique house. No doors, no rooms. Just one big area. I keep thinking I was late for work in my dream, and I turned to leave. Then, someone whipped me around. It was a man I have never met, but I can remember what his face looks like it was in real life. He started to shake me violently but wasn't frowning. Just had this blank, monotone smile on his face. I couldn't break away from him, I was paralyzed and couldn't wake up either. I was so scared, and I hoped my husband was in the house in my dream. I started calling for my husband, and then my instinct kicked in. I said the name of Jesus, 3 times, louder each time. On the 3rd time, I woke up & was free from that dream. I could move, breathe, everything. I realized then just how powerful the name of Jesus is, and how demons flee at the sound of it.
