But obviously being a Christian I don't. They also refuse Jesus Christ the lord and saviour and I wanted to get some Christian views on where the Koran comes from. I read the bible and I believe it cover to cover how can Muslims say it is corrupted. Yes, sometimes I find things in the OT like Do not Pork and it no longer applies so find that confusing. God surely does not change his mind??

Whoever told you that has no idea what they are talking about. If you read all of John 16, you will understand that Jesus was explaining to His desciples that He would be betrayed and He would leave them for a little while(crucified) and then He would be back(resurrection). He would send a comforter(verse 7, which you asked about); the comforter IS the HOLY SPIRIT. Mohammad was born 570 years after Jesus was crucified, do you really think Jesus would have left His disciples without a comforter for 570 years?
Once again you should read the whole of John 16 and do not let anyone try to convince you against the word of God, which is infallible and ALL TRUE.
John 14: 26 Jesus speaks, "But the Comforter which is the HOLY GHOST, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I said unto you". Jesus said this, not me. If He(Jesus) was going to send a man, He would have said "I will send a man called Mohammad"But He did not. The Holy Ghost is Spirit, not flesh. Mohammad was flesh and died as flesh(did not resurrect)

Without the crucifixion, the resurrection becomes irrelevant, and without the resurrection, Christianity itself is rendered meaningless.
1 Corinthians 15:14 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."
If Jesus was not crucified, He would have never told His disciples that He would be crucified. More importantly, He would have never told them that He would resurrect.

As far as the Quran and even the Bible. Many people do not read it cover to cover who say they believe in them.
I had a brother that was raised Christian, went Muslim for 15 years, and then came back to Christian now.
He had some great news about the change. Some of what Jehovah Daughter mentioned.
Like the Muslims do see JESUS ( ISA) as the Messiah. And they are waiting to come back and clear his name. As we know that JESUS says in the greatest commandments, LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART! and that he can do NOTHING WITHOUT THE FATHER!
So, the discussions between who Jesus is is just a misunderstanding with the Muslims on him being the Son of GOD. But once the understanding of what they WORD made flesh, GOD's word made flesh means, then it's simple.
As far as the eating laws and all.
Honestly, originally from Genesis, we weren't even supposed to eat meat.
Genesis 1:29:Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. we are using it for necessity
Later we were supposed to use animals for necessities like clothes for warmth, covering, etc...but not food
Genesis 3:21:The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.e:
Proverbs 12:10:The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
We were at first to not eat them , but after the flood and our lack of faith it became acceptable to eat clean animals
Genesis 9:2-6:
The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting.
I will demand an accounting from every animal.
And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
“Whoever sheds human blood,

Understanding clean animals which is what we were supposed to be eating
Genesis 7:2-3:

Clean animals were those that were plant eaters. Not really found today.
Look at Leviticus 11 ( long passage to put up here), but note that the clean animal is not made the same way today as it was then.
Though this is more Old testament law, it shows because of man's weaknesses that GOD had changed for us.
He did it greatest later with Jesus who said, "what goes in a man doesn't defile him!!" Even though JESUS Himself served meat, He didn't really eat any except to prove HE resurrected. To prove to them, HE ate meat. Normally He just "sat at meat (dinner)" with people.
GOD does change his mind in all thing books. Especially when it came to say to let's say destroying us.
HE always stepped back because of a prayer of a prophet crying out to Him.
This is not uncommon in all three of the books; Torah, Bible, or Quran.
So, there should be nothing to be confused about.
Laws of GOD weren't originally made because HE wanted to.
WE were so evil that HE made laws to bind us and make us act better.
If not, He would just be killing us on sin ( as some did get that treatment).

While I appreciate some of the animosity written here, I also believe that Christians may not fully appreciate the message(s) of their Bible. Muhammad had considerable contact with both paganism and Christianity. Within his family belonged a number of priests who worshiped a moon god. He regularly retired to a cave for spiritual refreshment. It was during one of these visits he claimed to have been visited by Gabriel, the same Gabriel who had visited Mary some 600 years earlier. Whatever else happened in that cave, Muhammad left with a new vision whose intent was to replace the Bible with the Noble Qu'ran. It also appears that whenever Muhammad encountered difficulties, his visions came to his rescue. For the most part, Muhammad was a decent person, friendly, but could not read the book he had authorized.
Within his life time, Muhammad had managed to unite much of the paganistic Arab world under one God, Allah. Or, the God. While we might be reluctant to admit it, great egos follow great accomplishments. While at work, I drive past a taxi stand, and many of the drivers are Arabic. Please bear in mind one significant item: at some point, Muhammad intended to replace the Holy Bible with the Noble Quran. His only option was to discredit the former, and he did so by saying the Bible had been corrupted by the Christians, and the original Bible had been lost. Thus, he set about to return the world to a form of Mosaic Law. Muhammad had personally rejected the Gospel message because of his "angelic" encounter in the cave. Muslims do consider Jesus important, but not as a redeemer. Muhammad instructed his followers that he would appear to them in visions and only those visions were valid.
Thus, we have two keenly divided camps. Jesus issued two commandments, which I believe were meant to be done from the Beginning: love God with all your might, and love your neighbour as yourself. If you are not approachable and friendly, your Christian witness will amount to nothing. If you live next to a Muslim community and prefer to avoid them simply because they are different, you are not fulfilling your Christian duty. Yep, you are guilty of disobedience and whatever else. The only thing I can suggest is to be a good role model. Regarding the differences of Christianity and Islam, hold conversations on a level of "agree to disagree". You cannot police others, but you can make points using some patience and wisdom. If they want to get testy, let it be their problem. Don't aggravate the situation by being a bad example, too.

I am glad that GOD has used you to make the confirmation HE used me for that Christians should remember to LOVE thy neighbor as thyself and LOVE the LORD with all their heart ( MARK 12:29-31). AMEN!!

As JESUS was talking in synagogues, not churches at the time HE walked as flesh, and this shows us what we should be open to listen as well as open to spread the truth to others not in the same belief. There is not hate involved.
Better yet, JESUS says, that if someone doesn't accept us, we should just shake the dust off our feet. That's it. Nothing more, leaving it to GOD to handle the punishment/judgement:
MATTHEW 10:5-15
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions:
“Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.
Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.
As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’

If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.
I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

But, JESUS ( as they say ISA) life was misunderstood by them and the Jews ( for lack of a better name).
As JESUS proved time and time again.
Because the Jews in the OT ( which is the Torah, which is where the Qu'ran also has it's dwelling as children of Abraham/Ibrahaim), they could not follow all those laws. As many died trying.
Jesus followed all the laws.
JESUS was the one that most people don't like to meet when they are sinning.
HE is the one in the midst, while everyone is doing evil, HE is comfortably sitting there not doing it. Which makes everyone there uncomfortable.
So, like all humans, and I say all, because we all have been like this at some point in our lives.
Like all humans ( at some point), we try to find something wrong with someone that seems to be doing everything right.
We do this, because we want them to be human like us.
HE personally did not break any of the Mosaic laws, but made them easier for the people to understand.
JESUS reminded them on countless accounts that these laws originally weren't made for man, but because man was so evil, then GOD made these laws to help them stay away from sin.
Remember, with ADAM and EVE, these laws were not made.
They weren't made till after NOAH. ( this can be found in torah, bible, and qu'ran).
After NOAH ( Moses/Musa and other), GOD started laws of eating, divorce, marriage, etc.........So, originally we did not have those laws.
We only had the law that ADAM and EVE should have obeyed which was in Mark 12:29-31.
Because if they LOVED THE LORD with all their heart, they would have never disobeyed, and if they would have loved each other as themselves, they would have never disobeyed. It's simple.
JESUS life re-issues the original law that was given to ADAM and EVE which is Mark 12:29-31.
This why many of the Pharisees, authorities at the time, Jews ( not the real name of them at the time) plotted to kill HIM.
HE messed up many businesses and corruption of people bending those laws to confuse people who had weak faith ( which were masses).
These people were only trying to get the masses to worship man and not GOD.
JESUS was bringing the people back to worshipping GOD.
I saw spiritually that even in two books that JESUS is the one.
As the Muslims are waiting for JESUS ( ISA) to say HE is not GOD before Judgement day comes.
Yet, in the BIBLE, JESUS says HE gives all power to the FATHER, and can do nothing without the FATHER's permission.
HE is just GOD's words made flesh ( i.e. Son of GOD).
Many don't understand what that means, because it's actually very literal.
There is no secret messages in it like the parables.
It's straight forward. Which is what humans are not used to hearing or believing. AMEN!
So, judgement day is left for GOD, and both Muslim and Christian wait for JESUS to part ways for GOD to do the judging. THere is not KEEN differences. Just misunderstandings. But, if a Muslim thoroughly reads through the Qur'an cover to cover, just like Christians should read their books cover to cover; because many ( not all) on both sides don't.
If both read, they would definitely believe in GOD through JESUS CHRIST, because for us to live on this earth in peace as GOD wants until HE comes for judgement. THen it would be only JESUS CHRIST teaching that would work; as HE is the only one that pushed and lived the word; LOVE.

While I'd be content to simply leave and let God decide what's best, I prefer not to think of the fate of another in terms of punishment. And besides, the timing may be wrong. I cater aircraft for a living. If the flight crew is friendly, I'll wish them a good flight as I close the door. If I'm treated as an invisible servant, I won't wish them a good flight and I simply close the door and leave. On the other hand, I won't wish them a bad flight because I know a bad flight could mean their last day on this side of the grass.

Clarity is still love.
