did any of you see the news the other day reguading judas be traying jesus?
now they are questioning it

I turned the t.v. off. I refused to watch it. The Bible is the Word of God, He's the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega. Anything these people "add" to the Word of God is null and void. They are deceiving people with their "knowledge".

Amen dreamer.

did u guys also read about a "scientist" who came with a "discovery" that Jesus must have probably walked on ice. Phew! What rubbish!

God has given us everything concerning to godliness and life in His word. His word is complete and it is the truth that sanctifies us. TRUTH means reality, fact, stability, faithfulness, trustworthy, unshakeable evidence.

We don't have to be moved by anything that the world introduces. Over the ages past there had been forces and powers and kingdoms and organisations trying to disprove the authenticty of the Bible. But the word of God is unchangeble and eternal and imperishable. "...the word of God which lives and abides forever because 'All flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flowers falls away, But the word of the LORD endures forever'." I Peter 1:23-25

There were and are and will be so called "new discoveries of 'gospels' ". There are no more gospels than Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Everything is already included in the Bible. Always remember ...no man could have compiled the Bible. The Holy Spirit is the author and compiler of the Bible. And He cannot make any mistake.
As believers none of us is to be affected even by the news, because the Lord said " I will build my church and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it"
2 Corinthians 10:4,5 " For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing the exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought to the captivity to the obedience of Christ.."

God's word is powerful, complete and authentic. Abide in Him and let His words abide in you.

Yes both the local and national papers had front page stories on this "gospel" in the last 2 days. National geographic has a special on about it tommorow night as well.

I have an opinion that will probably draw some criticism on this "discovery" as well as all the buzz on the DaVanci Code (which will get bigger in coming months with the movie.)

Are they misguided, or at the very least unsubstantiated, splinters of the Truth - absolutely. But.... I would argue that if there is a silver lining all this buzz is doing something very needed and that is a very broad awakening, awareness, and dialogue about Jesus Christ!

We have to concede that unfortuantly we live in an age where many young people / young adults have been brought up and molded by television and the mass media. Many of them may be in environments where the fruit of the Spirit is void, they didn't go to church or they didn't study the Word because their family didn't. At the very least these "new" discoveries and the DaVinci Code are flooding the air waves with talk of what they may never had access too. Of course I pray that they don't completely subscribe to these beliefs alone (as many will), but at least the story of Jesus is on the table which may lead them to further discovery and desire to seek out the Truth.

Im not watching the show either ! I have noticed its getting worse with all these people trying to make the scrptures seem untrue. It makes me angry , I know thats not a nice way to say it , but it does.

we must be on guard

I watched this programme, and the physical evidence seemed so convincing. Such as the age of the parchment, the ancient text, and the language it is written in. I definitely don't believe that Jesus asked Judas to betray him, but I began to think that maybe these scientists had found 'something'. As a Christian I know this is foolish to even entertain such an idea, but it just shows how we must be on guard of what we watch and listen . Maybe I was gullible for a brief moment.

What about young Christians or ones who are not yet strong and firm in the faith, I think these stories can be damaging. I remember Pat Robertson recommending Christians not to read the Da Vinci code.

I thank mature Christians like yourselves at TJ to remind other believers that this stuff is deceitful and beware of being duped. And you always back up your points with scripture.

After watching the show. I looked up scriptures myself to confirm what I already believed, that the bible is complete, and God does not lie. I thank the Lord for leading me to do this and it automatically dispelled any doubt that may have crossed my mind.

Prov:30:5-6 Every Word of God is flawless...

Do not add to His words or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

The Father of lies is alive and working, but the saints know how it ends, may the lord rebuke him for our sakes. And may the lord set the captive heart free.

Jesus and Paul, warned about our faith in the last days, they also warned about an apostacy (ie a falling away from the faith) a great deception to come, and said even the very elect, would have a hard time with it. But God is God, he knows his plan...and yes T.V can be used as satanic propoganda in the end times.....

God bless

There are just some things we shouldn't let ourselves or our children be exposed to. I wouldn't invite a medium or a fortuneteller into my home, nor will I invite people who lie about my Lord and Savior and King, Jesus!

My 13 year old was home from school that day that ABC broadcast the Judas story on the morning news. Twice, I turned the t.v. off because I knew the story was coming. Twice, she came into the room and switched the t.v. back on without asking permission. I knew that she was interested in what they were going to say. I prayed about what to do and the Holy Spirit directed me to say, to her, firmly, "We are not watching that stuff in our home. They make up things about our Lord."

We have family devotions 5 nights a week and read the scriptures out loud. With all the lies and theories my daughter's taught at school, I want her to have the truth lived before her at home.

Jesus is alive! He is risen and we are about to celebrate Easter. Don't let the media put a damper on your celebration of Jesus in your heart! He died for you, saved you from your sins, and rose again, just like He promised. Period!

Praise the Lord; may He reign in our hearts this Good Friday, and Easter, and forever!
