So many Christians and non-Christians spout the untrue "Only God can judge me." phrase.
In fact, we ARE required to by God and based on what God (The Judge) and Bible has said.

Judge with a righteous judgment. John 7:24
Judge all things. John 7:24
Judge sin within the church. 1 Corinthians 2:15-16. Here, you and I have every right to call out our pastor or other leaders and false teachers wherever they are.
Judge matters between brethren. 1 Corinthians 6:5. As long as you're not doing the same in (hypocritical judgement) then by both you are to judge others and yourself be judged. Summary: Course correction by your Father, Lord, and your Bible/Guidebook.
Judge preaching. 1 Corinthians 14:29. False teachers here again. Even if a lot of the congregation gets "upset" and you've proven them wrong it shows many are wrong.
Judge false spirits and those who preach and teach counterfeit gospels and false doctrines.
2 Corinthians 11:1-4. Prosperity Gospel, Speaking in Tongues, Healing (Copeland is "Famous" for that trash).
Judge the works and workers of darkness. Ephesians 5:11 Check it by God and His Word and if it doesn't add up, it's of the devil.
God has answered who and when to judge. Your opinion otherwise is irrelevant.

Dear Brother,
If I see a believer who is strictly considering the law alone, in determining the condemnation instead of mercy of another be they believer/unbeliever, yes, I do have issues with them, and it is for their sake that I do! [Jas 2:13 NKJV] 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
[Luk 6:35-36 NKJV] 35 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

It is not like we are commuting their sentence when we show mercy to those who are unrepentant sinners and show them the Love of Christ! In time everything done, will come to light, even that which is done in the dark/secret. That is irrespective of who they may be and should have all shivering with trepidation!

Too often when one is seen as being merciful to a sinner, it appears to many and even to those receiving it at times, that somehow, they are being given a pass from sins they are committing. Yet that is not so! For we know the cost was great, greater than what we can understand and that was Christ sacrificed on the Cross! And it is that cost that needs to be made evident to all unrepentant sinners. Also providing them if they are believers, that because they do believe, that God's Grace is not a free pass to continue to sin!

Brother I am so with you with those that use the phrase you have quoted "Only God can judge me." or the more common ones being "The (Jesus/Bible/God's Word etc.) says not to judge." Normally they use it to justify their continuing to sin. Still, the truth of it is that we should judge, but do it rightly! That in itself should give us pause, and how, much less if, we are to pass judgment on another! Are we doing it rightly! Yes, the sin can be evident to be seen, but you have even given rise to the instances (another thread) where they might not know any better than what they were reared up to accept and believe was truth!

So, do we judge that individual who knows nothing about God's Saving Grace through Jesus Christ before they even hear the Gospel or do we assume they know it? Too often we also attempt to get them cleaned before presenting them to our Lord and Savior Jesus! Knowing all the while that it will be by the power of the Holy Spirit that first they are drawn, then changed!

It’s a difficult time we live in brother. Evil is being promoted as good and good as being evil in the world! However, our task is not to change it, yes call it out, but more importantly to continue to present the Gospel, and to make disciples that they may have the foundation of the Word of God, that is the Bible to help them through the understanding that the Holy Spirit, can and does provide to those who are the Children of God to walk in the ways of Christ Jesus.

For those who profess to be believers and continue in moral or any other sin, these verses should be provided them!

Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things [are] of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore [you] on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NKJV

Believer or not, we are to judge others.
What is good, normal, moral, ethical, logical, and common sense and using God to back it is realistically a flawed argument for those who do not believe.
Morality cannot come from us. All are flawed even the most "saintly" are sinners. No person has the authority to decide these things but must originate from the God who created all of it.
Everything but God has an origin. Once a person learns that everything else falls into place.

Dear Brother,
You are stuck on this that everyone who does not see it exactly, I do mean "exactly" as you do are wrong...somehow.
Did I not say according to Scripture "Judge Rightly" or are you saying that judging rightly does not matter?

Notice how Jesus treated all sinners. The religious for the most part He treated bluntly, and pretty much smacked them upside the head, but your average person who is lacking knowledge, He had mercy and compassion for. Not excusing the sin but having that mercy and compassion on them who were lacking. He did not disregard either sinner brother, but how He dealt with them was assuredly different. That is what I am trying to communicate to you.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

The Judge has spoken and as such I follow what the Judge said.
It's not "suck" on anything.
Jesus has/had the authority while He was here. He's not here and no person in all of history or what future is left will have that Authority.
Jesus showed the Middle Ground. He taught the Disciples who in turn taught others and so on.
In current days, sadly, many have not learned this.
The basic concept is simple and applies to all sins which, BTW, fall under roughly 7 types.
God set the standard in many things and Christian or not, we are commanded to share and inform others.
Again, by default unrepentant sinners who prefer their sins over God are going to find God, the Bible, and Christians "offensive" and "mean" by default.
They also hate a Creator, Judge, and Authority they cannot sway or confront directly so that is passed on to us.
In other words, "Speak like Jesus and carry the Good book."
If a lot of Christians are not doing this then those who are, like myself, are going to stand out from them but also become bigger targets b/c we put out The Truth and don't compromise it for anyone.
This all going through text and message after message is a bad way to communicate this. Only slightly better on video.
I'm sure Jesus could de-escalate any situation with ease and seeing that would be life changing.
Every person is "going through something" but let's look at this all from a
Human Growth and Development PoV.
Science, Human Biology, and Psychology. From that, almost any issue given one's subjective POV and relevant variables.
Simply reading the Bible to people will only do so much. Learning to see people without most of their outward appearance isn't easy but is not impossible. WWJD IS 100% applicable and given a flawed mortal's ability to interact with non-Christans and failing Christians. One must also be open to being "corrected" by fellow Christians as it's innate in us to go on the defense when attacked even by the Truth.
Lastly, I was told years ago the Bible is simply:
Basic
Instructions
Before
Leaving
Earth
You're not going to be effective through this website, a text over a phone, watching a video as you will in person. It's why we've been commanded since forever to "share God and go make disciples of all nations."

Dear Brother,
It's not "suck" on anything.
You forgot the "t". :) and yes you are stuck on it, because at almost every turn you allude to me being or saying I am not or have not said. Like the comment below. Maybe I am misreading its intent in your writings, but once bitten, you get skittish around anything with teeth!

If a lot of Christians are not doing this then those who are, like myself, are going to stand out from them but also become bigger targets b/c we put out The Truth and don't compromise it for anyone.
Do you think I am compromising God's Truth as found in His Word?

This all going through text and message after message is a bad way to communicate this. Only slightly better on video.
Not really. If you give it time. Surely if not for the written form of communication what would we have to call the Word of God, but tales repeatedly handed down by memory alone. We know how badly that would have gone!

WWJD IS 100% applicable and given a flawed mortal's ability to interact with non-Christans and failing Christians.
Actually, I prefer WDJD then WWJD.

You're not going to be effective through this website, a text over a phone, watching a video as you will in person. It's why we've been commanded since forever to "share God and go make disciples of all nations."

As far as effectiveness. It really depends on the individual. I can be writing a page or two in reply, and in review wind up with barely a paragraph and yet its content is right on point. While in person I can talk a bunch and say less than a paragraph that is worth its salt to the hearer, and less sense as well for the immensity of the verbiage being sprouted by me! lol

The Judge has spoken and as such I follow what the Judge said.
I will end with the opening.

"Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 "and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. 40 "Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: 41 'Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.' " Acts 13:38-41 NKJV (What was being quoted v41 came from Habakkuk 1:5)

It appears that you are proclaiming judgment/condemnation and not forgiveness or do you once you've let them know that they're going to hell because of their sins? I ask this because in this thread and the other one I have yet to see this forgiveness spoken of. Maybe, it's just this method of communication that is failing us. :(

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

We r to judge righteously which is not wat u seem to do..

How can one judge a person they know nothing about.. one must see another s walk n ways while listening to wat they talk.. I see many Christians looking down on the homeless man/ woman.. the alcoholics the drug addict the prostitute.. lookin down on peep is wat i see many Christians do instead of reaching out to help them.. they will walk past a hungry person n walk into their temple to give a man (hired hands) some cash to repeat words they themselves can read.. n thinking they have done a good n they will receive favor from YH for their actions...

It isn’t my nor yours responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”

Remember

Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust”

Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

Twistie :broken_heart:

"We r to judge righteously which is not wat u seem to do.." - How so? God said what is sin and hasn't retracted anything. You can't provide any scriptural evidence to support your claim. Anything other than heterosexuality is a sin and no matter what novel you type with cherry picked verses out of context is going to change anything.
"I see many Christians looking down on the homeless man/ woman.. the alcoholics the drug addict the prostitute.." - Evidence? Out of 330 million Americans you as on person "witnessing" that very act on any given day for an amount of time to get a valid, minimum statistic is going to be very small. We're not talking about them. Why can't you stay on topic? When any person has lost the argument and cannot their stance is proven wrong they can't add anything else so they go off topic and insult the people who and God who are right.
"The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day." - John 12:48
Staying on topic, all people Christians or not who "accept or support" anything other than heterosexuality have rejected God. No Christian can support that which God hates. Therefore, again, there are NO Christian Alphabet people.

"Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes" - That's 1 Corinthians 4:5 which you conveniently left out the Book and verse.
As most people Google verses according to their agenda and ignore or leave out preceding and following verses, I will enlighten you and anyone else who reads this.
1 Corinthians 4: How the Corinthians should consider Paul and the apostles. "Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
Vs; 3-5 "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God."
Particularly: "Therefore judge nothing before the time" - As this was addressed to a people of a different time and culture. They were doing personal and opinionated judgment not from God. At that time Corinth was divided by which Christian leaders they were loyal to. (1 Cor. 1:10-13)
Corinth was also guilty of Pride and self-reliance instead of humility and dependence on God. Men will fail each other but God will not fail us.
People would do "good things" and make sure to do it loud and proud in front of as many people as they could. Pretty sure Bragging was part of the Pride.
If Christians were to NEVER use God and the Bible to judge, then people would've stopped being saved a long time ago which would also show the Bible is in error and God lies which He does not and the Bible is without error.
"Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” - This again? Civil and Ceremonial Law was not given to us. Moral Law is forever.
Judgement from God is 100% Just whether you like it or not or hurts your feelings or not.
We know you hate this and since you can't change God's mind you go after us.

In most cases, where you come across the word "JUDGE" in the Bible, mentally substitute the word "Damn" to get a feeling for the real meaning. "Judgement" = the passing of sentence AFTER the "trial" is over.

Why?
Damn(ing) "evidence that is incriminating or conclusive in proving someone’s guilt or wrongdoing."
Judgment - Here: a divine sentence or decision from God.
Same? No.
I'm not claiming I am the source of or have the Authority simply repeating what the Judge has said as we are commanded to.
If a person is unrepentant in whatever sin they are damned. The Judge spoke on what will happen if they do not repent and accept Jesus.
There will be one final Judgement and we know how that will turn out for non-Christians.

Just UNDERSTAND the the "Judgements happens WHEN THE TRIAL IS OVER, whether it's Human legal courts, or God's "court".

when "Judgement" happens, the matter is finalized.

There's a difference between personal and hypocritical judgment and God's judgment.
Since He's spoken on all things and again we are to repeat what the Judge said, I'm not going to play who can google dictionary words the fastest.
Point is, the sentencing for unrepentant sins is not here yet. All who've died in their sin, unrepentant sinners are already damned the punishment on them hasn't happened yet.
If anything it is a warning to those who haven't and will not change.

Dear Brother,
And that is the point!!! Until their last breath those "unrepentant sinners" have an opportunity to repent!!! Our God is Gracious and Merciful that none would perish, but knowing that many will, He still provides an opportunity for them to turn away from sin and turn to Jesus!!! We are vessels by which the Holy Spirit can work on their unrepentant hardened hearts!!! Not easy because you will be rejected, and in truth not us but God will be rejected by them. Until then, we keep trying, and we can't try if we do not step out in faith to do so by interacting with them!!!

We are not talking acceptance of their lifestyle, but bringing the Gospel to them, so that the Holy Spirit will change them!!!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Life long rejection of God to only have last minute/second "repentance"?
The only good example is the criminal crucified with Christ. The importance here is that God/Jesus was here and has the authority. No one alive today has had a first-hand, physical on Earth reappearance of Jesus for that to happen again.
John the Baptist warned, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2). Jesus had the identical message concerning the need for immediate repentance, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17).

The Bible warns us concerning the brevity of the human lifespan. “You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away” (James 4:14). We are not instructed to consider converting someday, but to believe today! “Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 3:7-8, 14; 4:7). None of us knows how much time we have left in this life or what the circumstances of our death will be. We may die in a sudden, unexpected manner that will preclude a deathbed conversion. The only reasonable option is to repent and believe in Jesus Christ today.

Many people die without having the experience of an extended amount of time on a death bed. Many people die instantly and unexpectedly, with no opportunity to trust in Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:2 declares, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation."

As I've stated countless times, God and the Bible are by default, offensive to the unrepentant sinner. While some are open to at least learning about it which cannot be done in a short time, we can't do it alone.
Jesus showed how and taught the Disciples. They in turn taught others and so on until today.

I'm sure you agree the "Fire and brimstone, you evil sinners!" approach is not the way to do it.
A quick summary of the Bible isn't going to do it. A class lasting a few months is better but not by much. My opinion, but I feel study of the Bible, Christian or not, for the best learning must be done over a long time. Akin to a college class but at least 6 months minimum of not longer.
To add, more than simply Bible study but learning to see this evil world in a different way. Hopefully, many will get their "Ah ha!" moment and come to Christ.

Only the Spirit can reveal you can study the words all day long n it won't help one bit unless the spirit reveals
Flesh gives birth to flesh The Spirit only can birth spirit this is what no one can learn from man

Twistie :broken_heart:

The Spirit only can birth spirit this is what no one can learn from man
you should add unless they are walking in the Spirit.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
