My mother calls this a hot dish, my brother-in-law calls it a one pot dinner. There are no hard and fast rules for making it, but it's a good meal and teaches how to manage cooking.
Ingredients:
Kraft Dinner, 1 box
Ground Beef, 1 lb, lean
Sausages or Pepperoni, 4 links
Spanish onion, 1
Red Pepper, 1
Green Pepper, 1
Green onions, 1 bunch
Mushrooms, 12 button type
Chili, 1 tbsp
Italian Seasoning, 1 tsp
Garlic Powder, 1 tsp or Garlic Clove
Directions:
Make Kraft Dinner separately. Maximum cooking time for noodles is seven minutes.
Cut sausages into coins, and boil for 10 minutes.
Fry up hamburger in large skillet.
Cut up onions, peppers, mushrooms into pieces.
Combine vegetables and sausages with hamburger.
Add spices.
Add 3/4 water and cover pan.
Let simmer until veggies are tender.
Add Kraft Dinner to mix and serve.
You can modify this dish anyway you like as I use Hot Italian sausages and add 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper. I have never made it the same way twice.
Cheers,
John
