Lady Gaga's Manila concerts face protests
May 21,2012 - CNN
(CNN) -- Christian groups in the Philippines planned to protest Lady Gaga's performances there Monday and Tuesday, just after Muslim protests have cast doubt whether she will be allowed to perform in Indonesia.
"This protest is not against Lady Gaga as a person but on her music and on how she declares distorted views about the Lord Jesus Christ," said Reuben Abante, bishop of Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church and secretary-general of Biblemode Youth, which is leading the protests.
Reached by phone, Abante said he expected a couple thousand protesters outside the Manila venue, Mall of Asia Arena, Monday night for a grand prayer rally before the concert. "We are Christian Filipinos. She comes to our land. For us, this is something that should not be shown to the youth we have."
His brother, the group's president, is former Congressman Benny Abante, himself a pastor.
Of particular offense to the group is the pop star's song, "Judas," with lyrics like, "Whoa whoa I'm in love with Juda-as, Jud-as," "Jesus is my virtue and Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to."

Lady Gaga's Filipino promoter, Ovation Productions, is run by Renen de Guia, who is described on the company's website as a born-again Christian. Attempts to reach him were not successful.
At the heart of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" tour is her message to gay youth to embrace and accept their sexual identities.
Lady Gaga tells Manila: “I’m not a creature of your government…”
May 22, 2012 - PEP
The Mother Monster (her moniker) marked the debut of Mall of Asia Arena with larger-than-life sets, a huge group of little monsters, avant garde fashion, and a repertoire that knows no bounds.
Despite the protests led by a number of Christian youths, the American singer rendered the controversial "Judas," which earned a thunderous cheers from her Pinoy fans.
To which, Lady Gaga remarked, “Oh, you like this song, huh…”
And, she was not in the least bothered by the censorship issue because the 26-year-old hitmaker uttered...
In between her songs, she exclaimed, “Manila, are you having fun? If you’re not..!”
But when it's time to confront her critics, Lady Gaga turned emotional:
“I’m not an alien, I’m not a woman, I’m not a man, and I’m not a creature of your government, Manila.
“I’m all your dreams and I’m all your potential. Let me be all your insecurities and your fears.
“I’m your future… I’m everything that makes you sad and angry.
“I’m you, little monsters.
“Tonight’s not a statement. Tonight’s us coming together because we believe we were all born this way.
“Some people say I stand for things that are bad.
“The truth is: I want the best for every single one of you..."
And just before leaving the stage, she told the audience, “It’s all about the truth... It's the...truth that people in the world need to be free and be proud of who they are.”
It shocked me to the very core to read this news.
Last night, I think some hours after the concert,
I was awaken by great lightnings, thunders & rains, the rain was so hard,
I thought there was a storm, and the lightning could fear anyone...I couldnt get back to sleep.
We had a hot & sunny day the day before, so it was really surprising to see that much weather change.
I dont know if its just me but I think Someone is really mad that the concert did push through in our country,
and the fact that a lot of celebrities, who claimed to be christians as well even supported her.
I felt anger from God in every lightning that I saw. I am very disturbed. And fearful for our country.
The clouds are all getting dark again and in a few hours as I am writing this thread the 2nd night of the concert will go again in Manila.
What happened in the concert, the things she say, it's definitely clear where this is coming from. And her songs, I have no idea what the other lyrics are, Im not interested to know, what I have read is enough. But I have no words of how devastated I am, especially because I know that there are already a great deal of homosexual teens here... and that this is like a great seal of approval for them. And its more than that, this is a very serious matter. I read in a social site too that the next song to be release will be "Illuminati Trap" to which she is singing for all the souls she had captured.
I hope you will take this opportunity to pray for this matter. For the people who idolizes her, to those who sing her songs & those who supports her advocacy for homosexuality, that they may be enlightened. In Jesus name, nothing is impossible. Im greatly thankful of how the youth Christians in Manila lit candles & prayed outside the concert arena. The battle is not finish as long as there are people who stands for Christ.
Let's be all watchful.
Revelations 17
2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”
3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries.
