Learning more ... ?

Hi

Here I am the closet christian. Talk about my faith when it comes up in an early morning conversation after a few drinks with close friends when I feel the call to but I kind of feel alone in my faith. Even though many around me believe in one way or another, I feel a bit like a looney asking questions and wanting to talk about God loads. I feel alone. I can now share and give thanks to God but I'm young in heart and have so many questions, so many obstacles, so many highs and lows but so isloated in faith.

God teaches - I learn but I want to learn more from christian people, people day to day. I go to church some sundays but feel exposed. I thirst for fellowship, bible study, anything and yet I feel very shy about the whole prospect.

A wannabe ... wanna more ... more God ... more understanding .... more knowledge ..... wanna wanna be that's me....

It is God that creates the thirst for Him Sleepy, and as good as fellowship may be, He will not allow our thirst to be satisfied by anything but Him. I personally believe that every man and woman, young or old, who truly seeks after God will at some time in thier lives have what is called a 'wilderness experience', a time and place in our lives when God removes the many things that distract us (and that can even be fellowship) so we will focus on our relationship with Him, and allow Him to prepare us for the way He has planned for us. Think of John the Baptist, one of the greatest men of God who ever lived, and he had to spend two lonely years in the wilderness. The same is true for many other men of God in scripture. If you think of yourself as alone, you will feel very alone, but instead, think of yourself as alone with God. Its great to talk about God, but its even greater to be talking to Him

hey sleepy!!!!

Ok so God works in seasons as well so like everything has a season. I kinda try and find out what season im in and go with the flow.

right now it is loads of change for me (maybe into university soon HA!) and so the tank gets empty quicker and i need to watch out for that.

I am learning just recently, that every moment you are alone, you are very close to GOD.

Dont waste your time alone by being distracted by the evil one.

Spend every moment and talk to GOD.

Each and every thought should be to him.

hey there sweet girl . . .this is an older post i havent read yet from you . . .you know . . .im so thankful for you expressing these things into words what many of us are thinking lots of times ourselves. . .however. . . have you ever thought about what your thoughts would be if you WOULD'NT know God, WOULD'NT have nothing to do with Jesus. . .maybe your not there where you wanna be. . .but thank God your not where you used to be. . .YOUR OK AND YOUR ON YOUR WAY!!!
