Leaving a church

While I was a member of a small local church...less than a mile from my home... I was having some huge problems dealing with issues and my daughter... I sat down with the pastor and asked for some counseling and asked if he could perhaps give me some sort of direction regarding it.

After sitting for about a half hour and explaining my situation... he said he could not help me because my story was "Full of holes". What I told him, I told him in strictest confidence and told him all that I was having to deal with... He then shared what I told him with some others at church and I received a phone call with the name of a family counseler from a church member.. and several folks asked if my situation with my daughter had improved... and kind of with a bit of a sneer... but that might have been my imagination working overtime...

My heart is bruised by this pastors actions... and so I left that church and found another that is not only helpful and prayerful, but also follows biblical protocol.. Consequently, my daughter and I have resolved all issues between us and although we do not have much of an opportunity to visit with her, we are on open and good terms... So, I praise God for leading us to a church family that truly cares...

I just wanted to share this with you today.

hi i had the similiar experience as you, but Praise God i am in a new fellowship since April and they are helping me. So far everythings been ok but maybe its my bad experience but i keep thinking something will go wrong. I have family problems too and am divorced. This new church has been a God-send, but the hurt that my previous church did has left it's marks and i'm having slight doubts, hope they will go away. cos i love this church, it's full of God and Holy Spirit. I'mglad u found a good chuch too. God bless jas

I am so sorry that the burden on you became heavier when this Pastor took
it upon his self to tell others what you said in "Confidental" without your permission.

But I am so thankful that God is faithful and drew you to a place that was able to help you with this situation and turn it around for you.

Sweetie I know you are bruised by this Pastor's action but remember he is still a man. I pray that your heart will be healed from this deep bruised heart and God will make a way that it won't lay heavy on you.

Your sister in Christ, Trish

I am so sorry for what your old pastor did. Please accept our apologies on behalf of the body of Christ. It was not the right thing to do, and he/she definitely should have known better.
I hope that you will be able to forgive completely, and as new relationships are formed in your new church, that your trust will return to people who are worthy of it.
And praise God that your relationship with your daughter is being restored!
