Hey all,
Just wonder if its "OK" to leave the current church and join another? I saw alot of people moving here and there, including some of our church members...
Isn't bible asked us to be faithful in everything and committed to our church? There is no such perfect church afterall, isn't it? There must be problems arise here and there. That's how God wants us to be, rubbing shoulders and accept the weakness of each others. No1 is perfect except Jesus...
Pls share your thoughts...
I don't think it is a problem to leave one church and join another. I guess it just depends on what your motives are for leaving and joining another church. I think you need to go where the true presence of the LORD is and where you feel you can grow and be empowered. Our commitment is to the LORD's work and the church as a body not necessarily a local church.
I think people are leaving churches because they are seeking a deeper relationship with GOD and many churches are not helping them to do that. There is a growing hunger and thirst worldwide for pure, uncompromising presence of GOD and many people are going here and there seeking it.
Firstly, we are the church. We attend a building often referred to as church. We belong to a fellowship of believers to grow and learn and most of all to worship Jesus our Saviour who died for us to give us eternal life.
I have moved to different fellowships since I gave my heart to Jesus.
You need to be led by the Holy Spirit in making decisions and He will tell you which place to get the right teaching and fellowship and where you can be a blessing to others too.
You are correct that there is no perfect church and if you find it, you better leave because then it will be imperfect.
I have been through 2 church splits and they are not pleasant.
If you belong to a fellowship and decide that God is moving you on, then you need to ask permission from the leader of the place where you worship to leave them and move to another. This is polite.
I have just read a thread by brother Chad and suggest you read this too. You will find it here.
