There could not be a “vital” side of redemption until there was first a “legal” side.
It's the legal side that gives permission for the vital side of redemption to happen.
This statement incorporates both sides of redemption.
“All born again believers ARE BEING TRANSFORMED into the person THEY ALREADY ARE in Christ Jesus”
The “LEGAL” side of redemption is always in the past tense as being already done and completed. The “VITAL” side of redemption is the work that is in progress toward what has already been completed..
The “VITAL” side of redemption is the work God is doing in the life of a believer.
Php 2:13 for IT IS GOD WHO IS AT WORK IN YOU, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (LSB)
What is the completed work that God is working towards?
Rom 8:30 and those whom HE PREDESTINED, He also called; and those whom He called, HE ALSO JUSTIFIED; and those whom He justified, HE ALSO GLORIFIED.
The glorification of his children has been completed from the beginning, (legal side) but is being carried out in this time-based world. (vital side)
Will we ever make it to it's final end?
Php 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that HE WHO HAS BEGUN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL COMPLETE IT until the day of Jesus Christ;
If God who is the one making us complete, what place do we play in this process?
Php 2:13 for it is God who works in you BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO for His good pleasure.
It is the Lord God in you who is giving you the WILL to DO his good pleasure.
We should always see and confess ourselves as the “legal” side of redemption states because that is how God sees us being completed in His Son.
Col 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
Col 2:10 and YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.
