Genesis 3:1-11,22
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Notice, the word knowledge in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, it means knowledge gained by the senses. And you see in Genesis 3:22 it says, And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil, so now man has knowledge he didn't have before. God said to know good and evil which let's me know man didn't know evil before, because God said he is become as one of us you can't become if you already were. The scripture in Genesis 1:31 says, And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. So what does God consider evil, well you see in Numbers 13:32, they brought up an evil report. What made it evil, it was contrary to God's word. So, now this man knows evil, knowledge contrary to God's word. And you function based on your knowledge. So, if you are operating on knowledge contrary to God's word you are already on the wrong side. So, before Adam ate from that tree all his knowledge came from God, that's why when he told God he was naked God asked him, "Who told you that you was naked." Now, he's getting his knowledge from another source, his senses. First he operated by spiritual knowledge now he operates by flesh knowledge. Now, all natural man knows and believes is what he can see, feel, taste, smell, and hear. When he operated in spiritual knowledge man walked in dominion, he had the say so. Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. But, once he fell to flesh knowledge now the creation took control over him. And that's not how God designed things. That's why you see in Deuteronomy 28:13 God says, "I'll make you the head and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath". I'll make you the head and not the tail- the head decides and the tail follows/above only and not beneath that speak of authority, when you have authority you have the final say. That was God's original plan. God's original plan was for the creation to follow man, not man follow the creation.
But, that only comes with spiritual knowledge or revelation. Revelation knowledge God giving you knowledge right from him into your spirit to see what you didn't see before. For example Mark 5:25-34 : 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. (That was her revelation) 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Notice, verse 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,--so now she is even in a worse state than she started out in. But, what got her out of that state--revelation, spiritual knowledge. If I may touch, but his clothes I shall be whole,--that was her revelation. Her spiritual knowledge got her out of a physical situation. Once she got spiritual knowledge she took control(spirit man). Now she's acting on something spiritual, she pushed her way through that crowd to get to Jesus. And when she touched his garment her problem was over just like she said. Notice, with spiritual knowledge she dictated the outcome(spirit not flesh). And Jesus told her, "Your faith has made you whole." Well, what is faith- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So, faith is based on the spiritual or unseen. So, when the scripture says, "For we walk by faith and not by sight"-you are walking by something that is not revealed to your senses. You have no way of verifying it with your flesh.
You occupy two realms at the same time. A flesh, material realm and a spiritual realm. Where did the material world come from, out of the spiritual. So, the spiritual realm has authority over the material realm. Now, in every situation man has to choose which realm he's going to go with. The realm of the material(physical) where things are fact or the realm of the spiritual where things are truth(John 17:17). The facts are what you pick up with your senses. Fact is basically something that exists, or is present in reality. Hence, these are things that can be seen visually, and these are the things that can actually be verified. It is not just something that you believe, but rather these are more or less the things that can be observed empirically, or by the senses. So, facts can be seen and heard, as well as proven by the other senses. So, facts deals with what can be detected by the senses. But, there's another realm outside of the senses where God has provisions laid up for you, they are not things that God is going to do, they are things that God has done. This is the realm of truth--Truth can be described as the true state of a certain matter. Now, truth is not always detectable to the senses. Truth has to be caught with the spirit. Jesus said, God's word is truth. So, any word not in line with God's word can't be truth, it can be fact, but it can't be the truth. (A fact and a truth can exist at the same time and yet be totally opposite.) Like, in the case of Abraham in Genesis 17:4,5 it says God speaking , As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee (Truth). God's word is truth. But, at the same time God told him that Romans 4:19 says, And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb (Fact). God told him that He had(past tense) made him a father of many nations when his body and his wife's body were in conditions totally opposite. Now, this man has to decide which one do I believe, what my flesh is telling me or what God is telling me.
God is trying to bring this man back to man's original way of operating when He got his knowledge from God. He's informing him of a work that has already been laid up for him. But notice, even though God did something for him it had no effect on him nor his wife bodily. Why, because of Psalm 116:15-- The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. He gave man authority on the earth, so He does the work in the spirit realm and man has to receive it out of the spirit realm. But, to receive from God you are going to have to be spiritually minded. That's why Romans 8:6 says, For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Death is separation, physical death is separation from your body and spiritual death is separation from God. A carnal minded man is separated from the provisions of God because he doesn't believe beyond his senses. And if you don't believe how are you going to receive. Romans 4:18 says, NCV There was no hope(physically) that Abraham would have children. But Abraham believed God and continued hoping, and so he became the father of many nations. As God told him, “Your descendants also will be too many to count.” But, notice Abraham choose to believe God to the point Romans 4:19 says, He considered not the deadness of his body nor the deadness of Sarah's womb. He didn't let his flesh determine what he believed. He believed beyond what his flesh was telling him. Just like when the scripture says, "By whose stripes ye were healed" he is not telling you about something that is to be done in the future. Just like when He told Abraham, "For a father of many nations have I made thee." That was not something to be done, he was telling him of something that has been done even though his flesh was contrary. And a lot of times people look to the flesh to tell them whether or not what God says is true and your flesh don't know. The flesh has no idea about what's in the spirit realm. Had he looked to his flesh to tell him if that was true or not he never would have become-- A father of many nations. But, he didn't consider flesh, he only considered what God said.
Understand God is in another realm and when He does something it's done in the spirit and it has to be received into the material, physical realm. Don't think of spirit as not real or less real just because it can't be detected by the senses. We know John 4:24 says, "God is spirit" and yet 1 Timothy 3:16 says, God was manifest in the flesh. Now, are you going to tell me that God was more real as flesh than He is as spirit, no. Spirit is the original state of existence. Before there was anything physical there was spiritual. And man is spirit, but he lives in a physical body in a physical world. But, man still has the capacity to function in the spiritual, by faith. When you walk by sight then you walk according to the circumstances, but that's not what God intended. Why, because that means you are following the circumstance. He said, you are suppose to be the head not the tail. Notice, the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus told her "Your faith made you whole." With faith she took control of her circumstances. Walking by faith and walking by sight are totally opposite. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. What does that mean, faith takes you above living by the dictates of this material, physical world. Because, by faith you access a higher realm were God has already laid up provisions for you. How do I know that, because that's what the scripture says. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, if it's not a thing, if it doesn't exist how can you have the substance of it. That's why the other half of Hebrews 11:1 says, faith is the evidence of things not seen. You can only have evidence of something that has already occurred. And what has occurred in the spirit can be manifested here by faith. That's how you overcome the world, by accessing the higher realm of the spirit. Those that walk by sight can't access the spirit. That's why Romans 8:8 says, Those that are in the flesh can not please God. Why, because you can't receive what He has provided for you. What He has provided for you is an act of his grace. And Romans 5:2 says, you access the grace by faith. Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 4:16 CEB That’s why the inheritance comes through faith, so that it will be on the basis of God’s grace. In that way, the promise is secure for all of Abraham’s descendants, not just for those who are related by Law but also for those who are related by the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us. So, God has laid up an inheritance for all of Abraham's seed (Galatians 3:29 says, If ye be Christ's then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise). That inheritance comes through faith(whose faith, ours), so that let's me know God is not picking and choosing who gets it and who doesn't. It's not based on God choosing, it's about us accessing or receiving. And too many of Abraham's seed are waiting instead of accessing. The only reason a person waits is because they don't believe that it's already done, because their senses are telling them that it's not done yet. So, I'm going to wait until my senses can tell me that it's done. Well the problem with that is that's not faith, that's sight. And you can't access the grace by sight. The scripture doesn't say that. You access by faith. So, you can't access the grace in a fallen man state, where he's ruled by his flesh. If you are going to access the grace of God it's going to have to be by faith. And the only way you become alive to the things of the spirit is through Jesus. Jesus is the bridge from the physical into the spiritual, but your spirit is the entrance way of the spiritual into the physical. Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. It's important that the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart match, why. Jesus picks it up in Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure(or meditation) of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure(or meditation) of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. When your heart and mouth match that thing is coming, you just released something. Look what else Psalm says in Psalm 141:3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. He calls your lips a door, an entrance way. That's how you receive your inheritance, you bring it forth. That's how Abraham received the promise of a child, God changed his name from Abram-High father to Abraham-Father of a multitude and that thing got in him until he was strong in faith and out of the abundance of his heart his mouth spoke and he received the promise of a child.
That's how the woman with the issue of blood received her healing, in the Amplified Version it says, "For she kept saying". That thing got in her in abundance and out of that abundance she spoke and released the meditation or treasure she had in her heart. Look at what Jesus said in John 10:1,2 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. A door speaks of a legal entrance, so what is he saying. John 1:14 calls Jesus the word made flesh, so he was spiritual first then flesh. He was a physical manifestation of the word, which is spiritual(John 6:63 The words I speak are spirit and life.) The legal entrance of flesh into the earth is the womb of a woman. But, he was spiritual first and the legal entrance of spirit into the earth is through a persons spirit. He only had a legal right to come out of her womb because he was first released out of her spirit. When that angel got finished talking to Mary what did she do, she said-"Be it unto me according to thy word." What did she just do, she released what was in her spirit. Luke 1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. That's how you receive from God, and the word becomes flesh.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
