“And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Matthew 9:35-38 ESV)

We live in an era where there is mass confusion everywhere you look. Wars abound. People are continually at odds with one another. Fighting is all over everywhere. Morality is under attack by those who wish to live immoral lives. Right and wrong are getting so confused and twisted. Good is being spoken of as evil, and evil is being spoken of as good. An altered (lie) gospel is being adopted by the majority while the true gospel is largely rejected.

False teachers and leaders abound everywhere – in the governments of nations, in the media, in the entertainment industry, in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, in the banking industry, in education, and inside the gatherings of what are called “churches,” most of which here in America are corporations (partnerships) with the government (state), and which are businesses being marketed to the people of the world to attract the world.

Not many people can be trusted to be who they say they are and to do what they say that they will do. So many false shepherds of the people are lying to the people and are leading them astray to false doctrines and to follow “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who put on a show of righteousness and of good character, but whose goal is really to destroy the church from the inside out. And so many people are looking to humans to be their “saviors.”

So “a knight in shining armor” appears on the scene to come to “the rescue.” But is he a “good guy” or a “bad guy”? Is he all that he professes to be? Or is he a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” out to deceive the masses? And the changes that he is attempting to make – are they really and truly for the good of the people? Or is this all a mirage? Is what sounds good really for our good, or is there a hidden agenda underneath that is not for our good?

But, more importantly than that, should we be looking for “a knight in shining armor” to come to our rescue and to save us from what ails us as a people, and as the nations of this world? Should we be looking for a human “savior” to get us out of the mess that the world and our individual nations are in? Should we be putting our hope in a man to make this world what we think it ought to be? What if he turns out to be the antichrist? Could he be?

So, who really has the answer for what ails us as a people and as the nations of this world? God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. Who is the only true and right Savior of this world? Jesus Christ, God the Son. And he is the only one that we should be looking to in order to save us as a people from what ails us and our nations. For what ails us is sin, and only Jesus Christ can deliver the people of this world from their sins.

Jesus Christ is the One in whom we are to be looking for salvation, not to a man who may be a “wolf” disguised as a “sheep,” or who may be our enemy dressed up to look as a friend. Look all around you and at what is happening in the world and in our nations. I believe with all my heart that we are in these final days (not sure how many days) before the return of Jesus Christ when he comes to judge the unrepentant to receive his faithful bride to him.

So don’t let appearances fool you. Don’t look to humans to be your saviors. Look to God, and to God alone for your salvation. Surrender your lives to him, repent of (turn away from) your sins, and now follow him in walks of obedience to his commands (New Covenant). And pray for discernment to recognize lies from truth and to not be easily persuaded to believe a “knight in shining armor” who seems to be “coming to our rescue.” Test everyone!

And then be those who are spreading the truth of the gospel of Christ to the people of this world wherever possible. Right now the internet (at least in America) is still wide open to us sharing the true message of the gospel in some locations (not all), and there are people who are listening and who are hungry to hear the truth taught them. But make certain that what you are sharing as truth really is the truth taught in CONTEXT in the Scriptures.

For Jesus said that if we want to come after him that we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and walk in obedience to our Lord’s commands, in the power of God, then we have salvation from our slavery to sin and the hope of eternal life in heaven with God when we die.

And the New Testament apostles taught that, even if we give lip service to the Lord, and profess Jesus as Savior and Lord, if we continue living in deliberate and habitual sin, and not in walks of obedience to his commands, in practice, then we do not know God, we are not in fellowship with him, we lie if we say otherwise, and we are of the devil. And we do not have salvation from sin nor do we have the hope of eternal life with God.

[Matt 7:13-14,21-23; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 10:27-30; Ac 26:18; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Tit 2:11-14; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; 1 Pet 2:24; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,15-17; 1 Jn 3:4-10]

So, please take this to heart, believe God, believe his word, and don’t put your trust in humans to save you.

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
