Luke 9:23
"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
I wake up everyday knowing my day will be wasted if I don't start it with Jesus. You can never acknowledge Jesus enough. His thoughts of you are more than there are grains of sand, so love Him also by giving Him every second you can.
Psalm 139:17-18
"How precious also are Your thoughts of me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand!
When I awake, I am still with You."
There are more distractions in this world than there have ever been, but Jesus knows this, so there is no excuse for not having a deep relationship with Him. We have to decide how badly we want a relationship with Him. I don't know the best way to do this, or how He would like for our relationship to grow, so I talk to him. Building a relationship with Jesus is simply spending time with Him, acknowledging His presence, praying to Him your joys and concerns, and asking Him for guidance in everything you do. Living life with Jesus by your side is having a relationship with Him, and the longer you live with Him the deeper it will grow. Jesus knows we don't know exactly how to love someone we cannot see, so we need to deny our own understanding and pray for His. Ask Jesus to show you how to carry out His will, and to equip you with His knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
If you like to sing, then sing to Him! If you're grocery shopping, then shop with Him! He will give you peace because your living in love and truth! He will show you His love and you will be filled with it! In times when something is wrong and you feel like your about to snap, just give it to Him. Say, "Jesus I give this to you!" Jesus' power is limitless.
If you haven't realized this by now, you will someday understand that you truly need Jesus in everything you do to carry out His will. We are nothing, therefore we can do no good without Him. He is the righteousness that we need to overcome our cursed selves. There is nothing we cannot overcome without Him. Do you want to love your enemies? Then simply ask Him. The more you watch Him create you into His likeness, the more faith you will have each time you pray.
Today, I was given some wisdom from Jesus Christ: It's not about attaining the thing in which I asked for, it's that I got to it with Him. The very best part about me is my relationship with Jesus Christ. This is true for all Christians, whether they realize it yet or not.
