SUMMARY
We have a King who not only gives us his provision and his protection, but also we get to come under his authority. Unfortunately, ”authority" has a very negative connotation these days. So many people hate it, but really it’s a beautiful thing. The same Jesus who has authority over the winds and the waves, over demons, and over sickness in our bodies is the one who called Matthew to follow him, and he calls us to follow him too. As scary as it must have been for Matthew to follow Jesus, it would have been scarier to let Jesus walk away. May we follow Him!
