1) LOOKING FOR ISAIAH

Chapter One

- Isaiah tells about a vision he saw about Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah !

- God tells about sons he has brought up and raised !

- But they have revolted against him !

- Israel doesn’t know God !

- He calls them a sinful nation !

- They are called wicked men, corrput children !

- They have treated God with disrespect !

- They have turned their backs on him !

- The whole head is sick !

- The whole heart is diseased !

- About the whole body, nothing is healthy !

- The land is desolate !

- The cities are burned with fire !

- Israel is compared to Sodom and Gomorrah !

- God has enough of their sacrifices !

- It is detestable to God !

- God is not listening anymore to israel !

- The faithful city has become a prostitute !

- It is time for God to turn his hand against israel !

- Sometimes when I hear some people, it seems to be we are not reading the same Bible !

- It is not possible to be more clear !

- Or people prefer to be deaf and blind !

- One word : WEALTH !

- It is CANCER!

- You have it but when you realize you have it it’s too late !

- It goes faster and faster !

- And out of control !

- It is everywhere !

- Human history is full of it !

- Human cancer !

- And it keeps renewing itself all the time !

Greetings,

can you please expand a little on this?

- One word : WEALTH !

- It is CANCER!

- You have it but when you realize you have it it’s too late !

- It goes faster and faster !

- And out of control !

- It is everywhere !

- Human history is full of it !

- Human cancer !

- And it keeps renewing itself all the time !

- It only means CONSTANT DESTRUCTION !

what you have written does not properly 'explain' the verse in context.

Of course, you are welcome to have your thoughts about it but as this is a Bible Discussion forum, it would be beneficial for others if you can stick to the text a bit more?

Bless you ....><>

- Well, it is always possible to come back to one verse and attract the attention on one point!

- Thus we can renew knowledge!

- Thus we can open new doors!

- It's the same if you read a verse in one language, your attention will be attracted by one thing!

- When I speak about the same verse, i may speak about two differents ideas or points!

can you please try a little harder to answer my questions about what you have so far shared?

Greetings,

can you please try a little harder to answer my questions about what you have so far shared?

Bless you ....><>
- I will explain but first:

- Let me ask a question to you and whoever wants to answer!

- I will let people time!

- Then I will answer too!

- There is no trap!

- What is all the Bible about except the fact that it is God's word?

- There may be different answers depending on the elements we have!

- Coming back to Isaiah 1:9, it says if God hadn't left survivors, Jerusalem would have become like Sodom and Gomorrah!

- Thus The people are not better than those of Sodom and Gomorrah!

- On the contrary, they are worse because they are supposed to be God's people!

- They are supposed to be taught by God!

- So they are supposed to know!

- But they do as if they don't know anything!

- They know everything God did for them!

- Yet they do as if he hadn't do anything!

- Coming back to Isaiah 1:10, they are called rulers of Sodom, people of Gomorrah!

- Usually rulers control and decide everything!

- So they have no excuses!

- And in fact, here they are not compared, it says they are!

- So they do the same things as Sodom and Gomorrah do!

- That's free will!

- Mankind does the same!

- Many people say they believe in God but according to their behaviors, they show they don't care exactly like Israel and Judah!

- So whatever the Bible say about Israel and Judah can be applied to mankind!

- They do their best to do the same!

- That's free will!

- Ithey go to the restaurant!

- But it's not God's table!

Isaiah 1:13

- Worthless offerings!

- Your incense is detestable!

- Iniquity!

- Everything is negative!

- Nothing is positive!

- Absolutely nothing!

- How is it possible to live in such a way?

- Hell on earth!

- Human hell!

- Free will!

- Man's creation!

- Man's destruction!

  • Isaiah 1:14

    - I hate your New Moons and your appointed feasts!

    - They have become a burden to me!

    - I am weary / disgusted of bearing them!

    - I hate / a burden / I am weary / disgusted!

    - This vocabulary is extremely strong and negative!

    - It is a good sumary of what “God's chosen people” has done against God!

    - And what God thinks about them!

    - It doesn't seem to do worse!

Isaiah 1: 15

- God doesn't listen to their prayers because their hands are full of blood!

- Is it possible to find words more explicit?

- God doesn't listen to their prayers anymore!

- End of the story!

- It reminds me of God calling for Samuel when there was nothing from God in Israel!

- And we are not speaking about a minority!

- We are speaking about a whole people!

- Thus the Bible tells us how Israel went away from God!

- Apparently the message hasn't been of any use for mankind!

Isaiah 1:16-20

- God once again tells them to change their bad attitude!

- And he will be on their side!

- But if they refuse, he will destroy them!

- Once again we see God's patience!

- The problem with man is that he gets used to God's patience!

- He thinks that God can accept everything!

- That's the same with mankind!

- And each time when he acts violently to put an end to such a situation, that's a big surprise!

- But it shouldn't be so because human history is a repetition!

- And the Bible keeps warning again and again!

- Isaiah 1:21- 23

- Jerusalem is compared to a prostitute!

- A city full of murderers!

- The rulers are rebels, friends of thieves!

- Looking for bribes and rewards!

- They don't care about the fatherless and the widow!

- There is absolutely nothing positive!

Isaiah 1:24

- I will be relieved of my foes and avenged myself on my enemies!

- They have become God's enemies!

- What about mankind!

- God's feelings are strong and powerful!

- After the expression of one's feelings comes action!

- I would say feelings concentrate on his actions!

- It was bad for Israel and Judah!

- It will be bad for mankind!

- But it will mean freedom for the faithful ones!

- And renewal for the earth!

Isaiah 1:25

- I will turn my hand against you!

- I will thoroughly purge your dross!

- I will remove all your impurities!

- It's not going to happen peacefully!

- It is going to be violent!

- They are too corrupted!

- And God did his best to put them back on the right track!

- But each time it is more difficult!

- Look at mankind!

- That's why a deep cleaning is necessary!

- And then God won't tolerate any opposition!

Isaiah 1:26

- In this verse, God says that Jerusalem can become a city of righteousness again but for that they should change!

- What a patience!

- But they don't care!

- It is the same with mankind!

- They should be scared!

- Anyway, they will be scared when it is too late!

- The more they wait the more they will be scared!

- And the flood is nothing compared to what will happen!
