Marie's Fun Cooken,

Marie was a World War 2 war refugee who came to live with my family when I was a baby. She had a son in a Russian concentration camp who died there and a son who came with her named Siggfried.

Fun cooken is a breakfast food which we loved.

2 cups of Flower, 2 eggs and (to taste) sugar and enough milk to make a thin batter.

Put oil on a griddle and warm till a drop of water evaporates upon contact.

Place enough batter to equal a large pancake on the griddle. After it begins to brown scrape the top layer off to the side to make the fun cooken thinner.

Let brown then flip it over.

Add oil to griddle as needed.

Place fun cooken on a plate and put strawberry jam across a row in the middle and roll up the fun cooken.

Cut of a rolled up bit and enjoy it!

Two people eating will keep a cook buisy.

Let me know if you love it like we did.

Yummy.....my daughters really enjoyed it
They want to have Fun Cooken everyday

Thanks for posting

Fragrant Grace,

You can make it ahead and keep it in the frig.

They could also be used for sweet tacos.

Thanks Eric

Yes I will do that.....especially whilst its so hot here in Australia

My daughters have just had some with honey rather than jam for breakfast very delicious!!

Yum.

Peanut butter is good too! How old are your daughters?

Are you in the fire area of Australia?

My daughters are 11 (going on 20!!!), 10, 2 and 1

Peanut butter sounds a great idea for the older girls

We are in South Australia, so not in the areas where the major fires have been. Its been very hot though last week hitting the 40's, so lots of fire warnings.
We thank the Lord for His goodness to us

I tried this yesterday and absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for the recipe :)

Very tasty with a little melted chocolate too

(although not so healthy for the teeth)

This recipe is a winner in our household!!!

My little granddaughter is a pancake eater and so I will try this as it looks much healthier for breakfast and very
good economy, as I have been using milk with a pancake mix, but this is flour and eggs and milk so I think healthy enough.
My husband brought home a box of apples we got for free and getting older but very good, so I think I'll try my hand at some
kind of apple cinnamon to put on these and give them a try. I also was wondering what I could take to the homeless
that could be healthy, easy to pack and incorporate our free foods and make inexpensively and this looks like a grand breakfast
addition, easily packed. Thank you so much!!

I thank the Lord so very much!!!

For the home less I would put peanut butter and jelly on them. It would be hardy and tasty.
