If you study the Bible carefully, you will find that there is no suggestion that the millennium is on the earth, nor is there any evidence of a seven year tribulation.
Manyu scholars believe, and I agree with them, that Christians live through the plagues which are of an unknown duration, are then taken to heaven along with the resurrected dead, and spend the 1000 years in heaven under Jesus kingship. It is at the end of the 1000 years that we, living in the 'New Jerusalem' and safely inside it as it descends, are returned to this planet which is made new.
This is partially correct.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Rev 20:4 And
I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of
them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and
they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
This won't be in the Jerusalem, because it hasn't come down from Heaven yet. That happens in the next chapter.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Also we might be able to leave the gates of the city, but the inhabitants of the earth won't be able to enter in. There will still be sin even after all of these events.
<DIR>Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15
Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.
</DIR>
Rev 22:2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the
healing of the nations.
If there is no sickess or disease in Heaven, who would need healing? Also who are we reigning over with Christ? Other Christians? Or the inhabitants of the earth?
Why do we say the tribulation will last 7 years? (Actually the tribulation is 3 1/2 years and the great tribulation is 3 1/2 years.
Rev 11:3 "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for
twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
(The first 3 1/2 years)
Rev 12:6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for
one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
(The second 3 1/2 years)
Daniel 12 talk a lot about the end times and the beast
Dan 12:7 I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it
would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.
Again we see 3 1/2 years.
Rev 12:14 But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she *was nourished for
a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
Finally the last 3 1/2 years (which was earlier described as 1260 days)
