meat offered to idols on your tables

It is a common occurrence that today, being the 21st Century, that meat we might buy and place on our tables has been sacrificed or slaughtered with prayers according to other religions. While the Word tells us not to worry about that, too much, unless we should abstain and say no if it might help others, for conscience sake, it is quite shocking to learn that things like the good olde thanksgiving turkey and the easter dish or the christ-mass feed has been slaughtered according to muslim wants so as to not upset them, the muslim's, not the turkeys!

This is true for most 'civilized' countries today.

One has to think about what that means as while we know that the prayers said and the idols and god's served have no effect on the food we eat, if we know that it has been slaughtered according to rites and beliefs of any false religion or idol, we might be best to say no and to avoid buying and eating.

You don't have to make a big deal about it and hunt everywhere for naughty gobblers, ducks or piggies, but if we do know, then what?

Halal meat is usually stated in the restaurants before you entered. I've never seen halal meat selling at the supermarket. There will also be no need as the muslim community usually own deli's and stores that cater to their religious practices. A devout muslim would not buy the meat we pick up at the store unless halal is stated. Just as the Modern day Jews that are devout will look for the kosher seal before purchase.

If you do not have a large muslim community near you, rarely you would find halal foods.

Even if you knew some store was offerung halal you would be safe with anything pork. If meat or anything was known to be halal then go to a store that is kosher. To eat meat that you feel is wrong to eat, then the Bible says that for you is sin. However you are always safe to eat pork as Muslims and Jews won't eat post.
