I have written the President of the United States as well as members of both the House and Senate, to charge 24 dollars for loved ones to see there loved ones at the 911 Memorial?? For people who are not family members ok, but loved ones should get a free pass! I am greatly angered at such contempt for the family's who lost so much upon that day, that they should have to pay anything! AS to the meaning of this day for a soldier such as myself, I invite you to read this letter dated Nov 21,1864 written from the executive mansion as it was called back then. " Dear Madam,I have been shown in the files of the war department a statement of the adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of FIVE sons who have died Gloriously in the filed of battle.
I feel how weak and fruitless this must be that any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you to Consolation that may be found in the thanks of the republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom."

Yours very Sincerely and respectfully

A. Lincoln

The price for freedom is never cheap, may we all remember this, and remain thankful for all those who shed there blood, just so we could remain free! Blessing all!
