I can't remember which thread this title applies to now.

But I just want to add that there is a web site called
MESSIANIC JEWS if you just type that in you will come upon it.

I had been told there were no such people.
But I had been told about them by a Jewish man, and this site says there are, as it happens, they may not be entitled to call themselves by that name, but they do all the same, entitlement or not.

Yes there are such people as Messianic Jews. They call themselves Messianic instead of Christian to try to maintain a Jewish Nature. They keep all the Old Testament Holidays. I have been to a congregation in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
It was interesting, we as Gentile believers could learn a thing or two from them about praising the Lord. I think the songs and music part of the service last from 30 to 45 minutes but it flew as you could fell the presence of the Holy Spirit.

That must have been a great experience for you.

And I would also agree we perhaps could learn much from them indeed.
I know they do exist here were I live, as they used to call into the Nursing Home I worked at, to visit with an Orthodox Jew and give him a New Testament, which he would never keep and always gave to me.

Unfortunatly Sonny this man, died not ever acknowledging the New Testament, or coming to love the Lord of it, Jesus.
How sad.

Messianic or "completed Jews have very interesting insights. The love and walk with Christ and so are our brothers and sisters. Let us not however forget the great pains that the Apostle Paul (through the Holy Spirit) and subsequent Apostolic fathers went through a great deal to keep the church from the judaizers.

Forgive me please, but I don't understand when you say the church was kept from a certain people, was not the gospel message for the whosoever?
Could you elaborte somewhat for my small brain capacity.
I thank you very much, and please forgive my ignorance but I want to learn.

Maureen, Judaizers were Jews in the Ist century who professed Christ but tried to make Gentiles submit to the Law/Old Covenant (better know as the Old Testament) one of their favorite issues was circumcision. But we are of course under the New Covenant with faith and love to guide us by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:1-5) Two places Paul speaks against them in Galatians 5:1-12 and Colossians 2:11-18.

The Messianic Jews however do not try to get Gentiles to follow the Law they just follow the Old Testament because they want to keep a form of their Judaism and they believe it is a great witness to the Jewish People.

"For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love."
Galatians 5:6

Nobody was restricted from coming to Christ my friend but the keepers of the Law who tried to change the church were resisted.

Yes I do know about circumcision issues Paul did face with others, Paul83, thank you for your explainations though and scriptures.

As it is our hearts that are now circumcised, by Jesus Christ.

Boanerges/Paul83
Still today it goes on, differant things brought into the church which ought not be there, these New Age Modern Ideas, mixing the world into the church, it's rife.

Some hold Bingo and cover it in the guise that the proceeds go to charity, it's still Bingo and it's still gambling.
They can dress it up whatever way they want to, undressed it's worldly.

We always need to keep in the word of God, for our instruction.
Then we can only do things God's own way. Amen.

Most Messianic Jews generally pattern their beliefs after the Evangelical Christian view of the 1st century Jewish Christians. For this reason, they are generally considered to be Christians by the larger Jewish community.

Hallelujah the Lord working in their hearts still.
They have come to know their Messiah is risen and are not still waiting on him to appear for the first time. They too shall be awaiting the Second Coming as we do. Amen
