In the mid 1940’s Mahatma Gandhi was thrown from a train because he was “colored” and not allowed
to ride in “first class”. In our modern society anyone who is different from our current belief system
is considered an undesirable. Gandhi did not accept “Christianity” because he could not find a
“Christian” who truly practiced the teaching of Jesus Christ as proclaimed in the New Testament.
Are there any “Christians” today that would change his mind?
I am not a “Hindu” in belief, but a “Christian”. Gandhi preached
that we will not strike a “physical blow” but we will receive the
injustice of men―and through our pain―we will make them see their
injustice and it will hurt our accusers, as all fighting hurts. But we cannot lose.
They may break our bodies but their reward will only be our broken bodies.
They cannot take away our self respect as human beings.
Are there true believers in Jesus Christ who can do the same today?
If a man who was not Christian can practice the teachings of our Lord Jesus
can we as “true believers” practice the principles of the New Testament?
Can we show the world that we have something that is to be desired above
what the world system has to offer?
It is one thing to quote scripture and “witness” to others about the saving grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is another to live that truth is such a way as to “inspire”
men to say that they cannot resist this “good news” (of our Lord Jesus Christ).
Talk is cheap and there is no shortage of it! But can we as Christians “provoke”
unbelievers to accept the work of Jesus Christ?
This post is not to promote another religious belief system. It is to inspire the readers
to practice the teachings of the New Testament and put to shame anyone who does not
follow their teachings! (Christian or otherwise!)
If we are to influence people in a “global” fashion we must think beyond our families,
churches, and cities and encompass the truth of God. We cannot “parrot” what has been
taught to us from the pulpits even if what has been taught is the truth of our Father. We
must find a way to “speak” to the masses of unsaved individuals that require the saving grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Most unsaved people that I know would not find this website or other “Christian” outreaches
something that they would give a second look. I’m not trying to criticize this website or anyone
who posts here, but I am attempting to bring attention to the fact that “non-Christians” are not
“ministered” to by “truth” that is “spit” into their faces. Isn’t it our responsibility as believers to
communicate in such a way that people who do not believe can be open to receive that truth?
Several churches in my area visit homes and leave “gospel tracts”. Most of these are thrown
away by the recipients and the message of salvation is not conveyed. Yet, the people who do
this “work” pride themselves in the fact that they are good witnesses for the Lord. They recount
how they have visited hundreds of people and how they have told them of the love of Christ.
I wonder how many of these people will stand before our Lord and He will say to them, Depart
from Me, I never knew you!
All I am saying here is that we are taught to just throw the truth into the faces of everyone
around us and that this approach is not “ministry”. I could stand on the street corner of any
town or city with a billboard around my neck that says:
“Repent! The End Is Near!”
and this would be the “truth”; but this is not “ministry”. It may make me feel better for
promoting the truth, but it is not ministering to the people who need it most!
I can hear the Spirit of the living Christ calling out to me. Can mankind see and experience
the love and grace that God has given and can they speak to those in need of it in such a
way that My lost children can receive it?
Blessings,
Catseye
