It is my sad duty to share with you the news that one of our Gospel for Asia native missionaries has been kidnapped by terrorists in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

Pastor Subhash, a young single missionary who has already started five mission stations with 28 believers, was returning home in a taxi with five other people--but they never reached their destination.

Yesterday, Subhash's parents received a letter that said he had been kidnapped by an extremist Marxist group known as the Naxalites. The letter did not mention any ransom or other demand, but did ask that Subhash's parents "help in order to secure his safe release."

This latest incident comes in a week in which we have received reports of more than two dozen of our native missionaries and Bible college students being badly beaten in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. It also comes as hundreds of thousands of Hindus are planning to swarm into a tribal area of Gujarat in order to persecute the Christians living there.

Please pray for Subhash's safe release. Pray also for his parents, that God will be with them through this ordeal. And please join me and the rest of the GFA family in praying for all of our persecuted brothers and sisters across South Asia who are suffering at the hands of anti-Christian elements.

Acts 12:6-17
6*The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, chained between two soldiers, with others standing guard at the prison gate. 7*Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel tapped him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. 8*Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.
9*So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision. He didn’t realize it was really happening. 10*They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate to the street, and this opened to them all by itself. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.
11*Peter finally realized what had happened. “It’s really true!” he said to himself. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jews were hoping to do to me!”
12*After a little thought, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer. 13*He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. 14*When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door!”
15*“You’re out of your mind,” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.”
16*Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally went out and opened the door, they were amazed. 17*He motioned for them to quiet down and told them what had happened and how the Lord had led him out of jail.

God, we are all awed by your power and ability. Father, we ask you to set our brother Subhash free from those who hold him captive. Thank you for our brothers release, sobeit God.

blessed are those who are persecuted, i will pray for them , , , yes, God will set a table before our enemies, He will anoint those who are persecuted from head down, and their cups will overflow.

May Jesus the Almighty carry them through
