Mormonism, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
by Matt Slick

[BGCOLOR=rgb(85, 57, 130)]Mormon Doctrines[/BGCOLOR]

There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163); There is a mother goddess, (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 443); God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321); After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god, (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pages 345-347, 354); God resides near a star called Kolob, ( Pearl of Great Price, pages 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428.)

The Bible says there is only one God (Is. 43:10; 44:6,8; 45:5). God is a trinity of persons, not three gods. God is eternally God (Psalm 90:2), therefore, He was never a man. God knows of no other gods (Is. 44:8). You cannot become a god (Is. 43:10). Mormonism is wrong.

One God verses

Isaiah 43:10, You are My witnesses, declares the Lord, And My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me."

Isaiah 44:6, "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me."

Isaiah 44:8, "Do not tremble and do not be afraid; have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none.

Isaiah 45:5, "I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God."

The Trinity is three separate gods, (James Talmage, Articles of Faith, p. 35); God is increasing in knowledge, (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 120); God has the form of a man, (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3).

God the Father has a body of flesh and bones, (Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22); God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children, (Mormon Doctrine p. 516); We were first begotten as spirit children in heaven and then born naturally on earth, (Journal of Discourse, Vol. 4, p. 218).

The Bible says that God is spirit (John 4:24) and that a spirit does not have flesh and bones (Luke 24:39). Therefore, God doesn't have a body of flesh and bones and he isn't married to a goddess wife.

Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163); There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 188); There are three levels of heaven: telestial, terrestrial, and celestial, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 348).

The Holy Ghost is a male personage, (A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, p 118; Journal of Discources, Vol. 5, page 179); Baptism for the dead, (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. II, p. 141). This is a practice of baptizing each other in place of non-Mormons who are now dead. Their belief is that in the afterlife, the "newly baptized" person will be able to enter into a higher level of Mormon heaven.

[BGCOLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]Joseph Smith boasted he did more than Jesus to keep a church together.[/BGCOLOR]

Joseph Smith said, "I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam...Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet." (History of the Church, Vol. 6:408-9).

Link: Joseph Smith boasted he did more than Jesus to keep a church together.|Boasting of Joseph Smith | Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry

Mormonism condemns other religions.

(Joseph Smith's first vision) "...I asked the personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right — and which I should join. I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong, and the personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in His sight. . ." (History of the Church, Vol. 1, page 5-6.)
"But He did send His angel to this same obscure person, Joseph Smith jun., who afterwards became a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, and informed him that he should not join any of the religious sects of the day, for they were all wrong." (Brigham Young, "Journal of Discourses," Vol. 2, page 171. - 1855)

Mormons have a different Jesus.

"In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints 'do not believe in the traditional Christ.' 'No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times.'" (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p.7)

Book of Mormon

Joseph Smith said, "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." (History of the Church, Vol. 4, page 461).

If the book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible and you can get closer to God by following it (History of the Church, 4:461), why does it not mention plurality of Gods, Word of Wisdom, God is an exalted man, celestial marriage, men may become Gods; three degrees of glory; baptism for the dead; eternal progression, the Aaronic Priesthood, and the Melchizedek Priesthood?

Changes in Book of Mormon

1 Nephi 11:18, (1830 edition) "And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin which thou seest, is the mother of [. . . . ] God, after the manner of the flesh." VERSES (1981 edition) "And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh."

1 Nephi 13:40, (1830 edition)"...and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is [. . . . ] the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world..." VERSES (1981 edition) "...and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the World..."

1 Nephi 20:1 (changed in 1964 ed.) "Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, [. . . . ] which swear..." VERSES (1981 EDITION) "Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear..."

Alma 29:4, (1830 edition)"...yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills..." VERSES (1981 edition) "...yea, I know that he allotteth unto men [ . . . .] according to their wills..."

3 Nephi 22:4 (1830 edition) "...for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, [. . . . ] and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more." VERSES "...for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more."

[BGCOLOR=rgb(41, 105, 176)]Questions for Mormons[/BGCOLOR]

Why was Joseph Smith still preaching against polygamy in October 1843 after he got his revelation in July 1843 commanding the practice of polygamy? (Doc. & Cov. 132; and History of the Church Vol. 6, page 46, or Teachings of the Prophet, page 324).

If the Book of Mormon is true, why do Indians fail to turn white when they become Mormons? (2 Nephi 30:6, prior to the 1981 revision).

How did Joseph Smith carry home the golden plates of the Book of Mormon, and how did the witnesses lift them so easily? (They weighed about 230 lbs. Gold, with a density of 19.3 weighs 1204.7 lbs. per cubic foot. The plates were 7" x 8" by about 6". See Articles of Faith, by Talmage, page 262, 34th ed.)

If Moroni devoutly practiced the Mormon Gospel, why is he an angel now rather than a God? (Doc. & Cov. 132:17,37)

If Jesus was conceived as a result of a physical union between God and Mary, how was Jesus born of a virgin? (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1, page 50).

How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon's while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? (1 Kings 5:13-18 and 2 Nephi 5:15-17).

God rejected the fig leaf aprons which Adam and Eve made (Gen. 3:21). Why do Mormons memorialize the fall by using fig leaf aprons in the secret temple ceremonies?

Verses worth noting from LDS Scripture

[BGCOLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]Book of Mormon[/BGCOLOR]

Sufficiently Humble, Alma 5:27, "Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?"

Mocking Brother, Alma 5:29-31, "Behold, I say, is there one among you who is not stripped of envy? I say unto you that such an one is not prepared; and I would that he should prepare quickly, for the hour is close at hand, and he knoweth not when the time shall come; for such an one is not found guiltless. 30 And again I say unto you, is there one among you that doth make a mock of his brother, or that heapeth upon him persecutions? 31 Wo unto such an one, for he is not prepared, and the time is at hand that he must repent or he cannot be saved!"

Jesus born in Jerusalem: Alma 7:10, "And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

Saved after all you can do: 2 Nephi 25:23, "For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do."

Grace sufficient after you deny yourself of all ungodliness. Moroni 10:32, "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and IF YE SHALL DENY YOURSELVES OF ALL UNGODLINESS, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, THEN IS HIS GRACE SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."

Have you denied yourself of all ungodliness? If not, then God's grace isn't sufficient for you. Remember, you must deny yourself of ALL ungodliness or you don't have God's grace...which would mean you are lost. So, have you denied yourself of all ungodliness according to YOUR scriptures?

Must forsake your sins: DC 58:43, "By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins—behold, he will confess them and forsake them."

Doctrine and Covenants

Celestial Law, "For he who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory," (DC 88:22). --- following are excerpts from LDS.org, search on celestial law requirements

"If we are fully obedient to celestial law, fulfilling the laws of Christ, we will be worthy of a celestial glory. But for those who do not fully comply with celestial law, other lesser degrees of glory have been prepared..." (Delbert L. Stapley, The Blessings of Righteous Obedience, Ensign, Nov. 1977, 18).

"respect the opposite sex so that even lustful thoughts are foreign to the mind," (C. Kent Dunford, Are You Ready to Be a Disciple of Christ? New Era, Apr. 1975, 26)

"Obedience to Celestial Law Tithing is a part of the celestial law referred to in this revelation. Obedience to it is a prerequisite to being quickened in the resurrection by the fulness of the celestial glory," (Marion G. Romney, The Blessings of an Honest Tithe, New Era, Jan.Feb. 1982, 45).

"When we talk of the celestial law which is revealed from heaven, that is, the Priesthood, we are talking about the principle of salvation, a perfect system of government, of laws and ordinances, by which we can be prepared to pass from one gate to another, and from one sentinel to another, until we go into the presence of our Father and God...(Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, 18: The Priesthood, 125)

"But what the scriptural account means is that to gain celestial salvation we must be able to live these laws to the full if we are called upon to do so. Implicit in this is the reality that we must in fact live them to the extent we are called upon so to do," (Bruce R. McConkie, Obedience, Consecration, and Sacrifice, Ensign, May 1975, 50).

Mitt Romney, presidential candidate.

Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Romney served during his business career as the bishop of his ward (head of his local congregation) and then stake president in his home area near Boston. After stepping down from Bain Capital and his local leadership role in the church, he ran as the Republican candidate in the 1994 Massachusetts election for U.S. Senate. Losing to longtime incumbent Ted Kennedy, he resumed his position at Bain Capital. Hired as the President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics, the resulting visibility enabled Romney to relaunch his political career. (Wikipedia)

Thanks Brother for Sharing,
I hadn't been to CARM in awhile and had forgotten much of their work in Apologetics.
Prayers for you, yours and those working in maintaining the blessing that has been TJ.

Hebrews 13:6

question ---if the Mormons say the Father came down to have sex with Mary, (which has Nephilim ideas), wouldn't that be blaspheme?? to attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to fornication is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit do you think?? I speak very reverently here and my motive is that perhaps those who may not know the evil may steer away from the Heredical message they present.

From the Book of Mormon 1990 edition first page bottom row

"And now ,If there be faults they are the mistake of men : Wherefore , condem not the things of God
that ye may be found spotless at the day of judgment-seat "

It seems to me this is a disclaimer for what follows. God takes full authority and responsability to preform and stand behind His word. No faults exsit in Gods perfect word..They sprinkle Christ like salt in their teachings so as to give pallet to something undesirable on its own..IMHO ...Ana my last meeting with two JCLDS door knockers i offerd to pray for them hands on style ,one said thank you the other took 3giant steps back and proclaimed DONT YOU TOUCH ME like it would hurt him...hmmmm .! my guess is something came to my door that knew it had an appointed time before the Lord .....Rev

magic mormon underwear!

did you know that mormon's have and have to have special protective underwear?

below is a snippet from a site which explains lots about mormons -the latter day saints as they call themselves

makes you wonder - was Clark Kent (Superman) a mormon?

THE GARMENT OF THE HOLY PRIESTHOOD:

After showing his Temple Recommend to a worker stationed near the entrance inside the building, the patron repairs to the men's dressing area, where he is assigned a private locker (dividers and a door ensure privacy). After disrobing he covers himself with a "Shield"-a white poncho-like linen covering with a hole in the top for his head and open sides (held shut while walking). Covered in the Shield, he carries one pair of Temple Garments (one-piece style) to the Washing and Anointing area, and waits on a bench until directed by a temple worker to enter one of the Washing and Anointing booths through a veiled partition. The booths are simply small cubicles made up of suspended lined veils.

When called for, the initiate enters the booth and hands his Garments to a worker who places them on a towel rod. As the initiate stands upright in his Shield the temple worker wets his fingers under s small faucet of running water in the booth, and lightly touches each area of the initiate's body through the open sides of the Shield. Brother _______, having authority, I place this Garment upon you [for and in behalf of ______, who is dead], which you must wear throughout your life. It represents the Garment given unto Adam when he was found naked in the Garden of Eden, and is called the Garment of the Holy Priesthood. Inasmuch as you do not defile it, but are true and faithful to your covenants, it will be a shield and a protection to you against the power of the destroyer until you have finished your work here on earth. WIth this Garment I give you an New Name, which you should always remember, and which you must keep sacred, and never reveal except at a certain place which will be shown you hereafter. The name is "______."
The New Name is then repeated by the patron, who has now completed the Initiatory Ordinances, and is ready to clothe for the Endowment. Upon giving the New name, the worker writes either a "1" or a "2" on thee name slip. This indicates which of the "New Names" in use that day the patron received. The New Name may be almost any given name found in the Bible or the Book of Mormon. WHen the patron has not undergone Initiatory Ordinances, but is simply about to do an "Endowment for the Dead" he receives the New Name in a booth, dressed in his white shirt, tie, pants, socks and slippers. Holding a name slip, he obtained the New Name by the following rite:

VICARIOUS PRESENTATION OF THE NEW NAME: Brother ______, having authority, I give you a New Name, for and in behalf of ____, (patron and the worker read name of deceased), who is dead, which you should always remember, and which you must keep sacred, and never reveal except at a certain place that will be shown you hereafter. The name is "_______".
It should be noted that all Mormon males and Mormon females are given a unique name that is chosen for each day of the year. Therefore, all Mormons males that enter the temple on a given day of the year will be given the same name, and the name chosen for females for that day, the females will receive. There are many websites available where a person can go and enter the year, month and day and find out what their name was.

When a married couple receive their names on the same day, the male will be told the name of the female, however, the name of the male is kept secret from the female and never to be revealed. This is another example of how Mormonism treats females as second class citizens in the male dominated hiearchy of the Mormon church.

From Ex-Mormon (anonymous posting): "It is doubtful that most non-Mormons have any idea that Mormons wear "sacred" or secret underwear. There is nothing in their life that would equate to wearing regulation underwear and the fear, guilt, keeping up appearances, sneaking to take them off, not telling a spouse, associated with wearing them.

Just the idea that human beings are not acceptable unless dressed in regulation underwear must seem absolutely bizarre to outsiders.

How crazy is it to be afraid to take off your underwear, be seen not wearing it, and how a spouse has to power to destroy your personal temple clothing if you are not "worthy" in their eyes.

I maintain that the most powerful thing Mormonism does to control it's members by fear, guilt, and shame is the regulation underwear!

The impact is so powerful, the worse kind of entrapment, that the only way for me to deal with the insidious, control and mistreatment is with humor. I can look back and have a good laugh at how silly and goofy I was and how ridiculous I looked standing in front of the mirror in that silly old fashioned underwear!

The major thing that sets Mormons apart from all other religions is the regulation underwear.

What we will do to be acceptable in our social approval group is unlimited.

Their power is so subtle that taking them off permanently is not only psychologically difficult, it is physically difficult as well. The combination of those two factors is what gives Mormonism egregious, unfathomable, total control over it's members. If you tell a Mormon they are controlled by their underwear, they will vehemently deny it."
In order for a Mormon to get into the Celestial Kingdom, a Mormon must take out their endowments. In order to take out their endowments, they must be temple worthy. In order to be temple worthy, they must pay 10% of their income to the Mormon Church. In order to keep the temple covenants, they must wear the magical underwear called "garments". A mormon can only buy their magic underwear from the Mormon Church.

Aside from their doctrine.
The LDS church also owns a majority stake in Trico. Which owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut.

Pedophilia And The Global Elite

@Chad @Eddy Fire Your posts are so informative thank you. I knew just the basics about the Mormons....not realizing how depraved they are.

Also @B-A-C I didn't realise they were involved in KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut etc. How much more do they infiltrate society?

Reading up some more I found this article written by an ex-mormon that provides further insight into the inner circles of this cult

Pedophilia And The Global Elite
Mormonism is a satanic religion, straight out of the pits of Hell. It is a sex cult, that brainwashes it's victims into believing that it is proper and right for wives and daughters to give themselves sexually to the leaders on the Mormon Church. Deny it as some Mormons may, the writings of their FOUNDERS are irrefutable evidence of this woeful evil.

Here's a lengthy and disturbing quote from an article at EXMormon.org...

Mormon Child Brides

"Polygamy and Mormonism are inseparably entwined. One of the most offensive aspects of Mormon-based polygamy is the rampant practice of taking underage girls as polygamous wives. This is precisely what Brian David Mitchell did when he abducted Elizabeth Smart. In the western United States, there are at least 30,000 people involved in the practice of Mormon-based polygamy. In these polygamous groups, the compulsion for underage girls to marry polygamists—usually men much older than themselves—is a part of everyday life.

In these communities, girls as young as 12 or 13 are often married off to priesthood leaders. The most powerful and influential of these priesthood holders have first pick of the girls. Parents of the young girls submit their daughters willingly into these unions with the hope of being blessed by God in their afterlife.

One asks, where did this practice come from? Why do these offenders take such young girls as wives? What does Mormon doctrine have to do with this?

These are indeed puzzling questions, but the answers are simple. The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith Jr. set the precedent for this behavior.

Smith married several underage girls himself. The most notorious example of this is in the case of Helen Mar Kimball. Young Helen married Smith in May, 1843. She was 14 years old; the same age as Elizabeth Smart was at the time of her abduction. Helen’s father, Heber Chase Kimball gave his daughter to Smith as a token of his unquestioning devotion. In return, Smith promised that this union would seal up the salvation of the Kimball family. Smith didn’t use a knife to coerce this young girl, he used the weapon he was most adept at using, psychological manipulation.

I acknowledge that these accusations are extraordinary, but evidence that this event took place is well documented, as is evidence of Smith’s marriage to several other underage child brides. It can by found at this website, which is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

I can't imagine being a Morman woman, being eternally pregnant. These poor Mormans are trapped by satan. We can pray and ask God for wisdom to witness to Mormans when they come to our door. Consider those children who trust their parents and follow their false religion.
