Just started reading this book auto bio on R. G. LeTourneau seems outstanding so far. Anyone read it??

He partnered up with God and started building earth moving machines, gave 90% of all his income away.

I've run some of the machines this man designed...and they are works of art!

Thank you for sharing @Dave M

I had never heard of LeTourneau

That was so interesting and what a wonderful testimony he and his wife had of the Lord's love and power working through their lives.

(@Br. Bear you will find this interesting)

Mr. LeTourneau, when he was designing his machines would spend hours in prayer, seeking Gods wisdom as to how to make his designs work. It took him a long time when he was designing the articulated loader, the front end loaders we see today, but he waited on God for the solution to that problem and God did give him that solution. The question? How do you take a big machine and make it bend in the middle without a loss of power or stability?
Mr. LeTourneau is a good example for all of us.

Greetings,

I read his story quite some years back and it challenged me and still does.
I appreciate engineering and some might say I am a little strange because I do get quite excited about good engineering, so the machines he was able to design and build I take my hat off to as far as machines and engineering go but I always had a difficulty being at ease with what the machinery was designed and used for .
His testimony of giving 90% and keeping only 10 at first was impressive but then I realized that with his income it would not be too taxing on his weekly grocery bill.
He helped children a lot which is always nice but as I am not into schools I didn't get all that excited.
I was a vice-president of the local FGBMFI for a while and so a business testimony like LeTourneau's was the sort of testimony that encouraged members to press on and believe more in the FGBMFI. In hindsight I am not so convinced about all that .

One thing I do know is that we should never judge before the time and that all judgement belongs to Jesus Christ and definitely not me so one day I might meet up with Mr LeTourneau if I finish my course and am found faithful and approved by Him to Whom belongs all power and glory, dominion and praise.

Bless you ....><>

what was his salary (income) I have not come to that part yet??

thanks

interesting quick skim of things showed net profit to be a nice size

, but that is not the same as owner salary,

I do appreciate the link. I will look into more later heading to work.

I will say I am enjoying the book, and almost finished, but its not as good as I was anticipating.

Do we think his salary is important? Its his attitudes and choices, in my opinion, that made him a winner.
