“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh
longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1,
NKJV).

A Word From Billy Graham
“I once visited the dean of a great American university. We looked out the
window of his office and watched hundreds of students walking to their classes.
I asked the dean, ‘What is the greatest problem at this university?’ He thought
a moment and answered, ‘Emptiness.’ So many people today are bored, lonely,
searching for something. You can see it in their faces. One girl home from
college told her wealthy father, ‘Father, I want something, but I don’t know
what it is.’ That’s true of many people; we want something to meet the deepest
problems of our lives, but we haven’t found it. David said, The LORD is my
shepherd; I shall not want’ (Psalm 23:1, NKJV). The Apostle Paul expressed it,
‘I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content’ (Philippians 4:11, NKJV).
You don’t have to give up on life, to throw up your hands and cry, ‘It’s no
use.’ You can have God’s peace, God’s joy, God’s happiness, God’s security; and
yours can become the most thrilling life in the world.”

Who Can Quench Your Thirst?
“There is still emptiness within people, and they attempt to fill that with
things that do not satisfy. Jesus said to the woman at the well, ‘Whoever drinks
of this water will thirst again’ (John 4:13, NKJV). I tell people to write this
Scripture over the top of their ambition, over every goal they set for their
lives. No ambition is going to satisfy their thirst, because it is a spiritual
thirst. Man is a three-fold being--body, soul and spirit. We have physical
thirst. We have emotional thirst for love, security and the need to be needed.
Then way down, deep inside, we have a thirst for God. In Romans 8, Paul said,
‘The creature was made subject to vanity’ (Romans 8:20, KJV). God created a
spiritual thirst that only He can quench. The problem is that people are trying
to quench a spiritual thirst with a physical or emotional experience. It can’t
be done, even as you can’t fill a physical thirst with an emotional experience”
(Chuck Smith).

Prayer
Lord, only You can truly quench the thirst of our spirits. Help us to remember
that the thirst in our lives for something more can be satisfied by seeking You
and spending time in Your presence. Show us how to share Your living water,
Jesus Christ, with those who cannot satisfy the thirst in their spirits. We pray
in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yes Father Quench my thirst make me full as I drink from your fountain.
Remove the idols from my life and show yourself, let not my eyes be distracted from you,
let not my tongue sing praises to anyone else.
Let not my hands be lifted to anything or anyone else.
Let not my mind be consumed by worldly desires but be filled with your word.

Let not my body be offered to anyone else. For you alone can satisfy.

Thank you Brother for sharing, I needed that prayer.
