I was at a friends vbs and very you when i accepted Christ. But like many teenagers I did not walk very closely with Him. Gratefully, my mother kept us in church. I had some wonderful teachers and God was guiding my way. I met and married my husband of 26 yrs at church. We now attend a Christian and Missionary Alliance church in our town (sister church to where we met). In God's providence we have no children of our own, but my brother has 8 yr old triplets (1 girl and 2 boys) that I have been blessed to be with frequently!!! We even went to Disney world with them.
In 2001, my father, also my best friend asided from Christ and my husband was in the hospital for a few months as he was very ill (emphysema) and toward the end of his life. We buried him on 9/11/01. But when we were given the things from his pocket- he had a cross I had given him years ago. I had prayed for his salvation and even asked him in the hospital where he stood with Christ, I couldnt take any chances. That cross reminds me what fervent prayer and perserverance does when we are faithful to Christ's calling.
My husbands father got very ill in 2004, he had surgery the day after Christmas. This was a trying time as I had just undergone surgery two months before. His father recovered and both his parents are doing well. I prayed many a long night then and God is and was faithful. Does this mean I think He wasnt faithful with my own father? No, far from it!!! He knew exactly what it would take for my father to look up and see what He was offering. It was not what I expected but was necessary for Dad's salvation. I praise God everyday for the wonderful way He works in our lives!!!
