For us christians, we tend to think that simple tasks will earn us the key to heaven but this is such a fallancy. Even some celebrities tend to donate trucks off money to charity for thier souls sake but will it please our lord? I think not. The path to heaven is narrow and small but the path of sin is ever so wide. Good deeds will not get you into heaven, actions are key and often we think solely of ourselves. always try to be something your not, a christian has to make sacrifices to get his point acorss to non-believers and so should us all. The more we do more to please our lord, the door shall open a bit wider and eventually we shall inherit the kingdom.

God bless you all and may you all be safe

This makes me think of time in His word where Jesus
says in

Matthew 7:21-23

Lord Lord did we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, did many wonders in Your name?

Then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me.

This really makes you think!!!!!!!!!!

Am I truely walking the narrow path and standing on the solid rock of Jesus or taking the wide path and going along in pride, self righteousness, etc............

Makes you get on your knees and spend time with Him and ask Him to show me the error of my ways so I can return back onto the straight and narrow.

Thanks Solidsnakeslug for this post. Definitely a reminder and caution.

I agree when you say "a christian has to make sacrifices to get his point across to non-believers "
I believe we tend to get lazy...if its not in our comfort zones we're not going.
"Me go to China..no way..."

The more we do more to please our lord, the door shall open a bit wider and eventually we shall inherit the kingdom

Yes we have to please God, but the door opens when we accept him in our lives.

John 3:3 3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

This clears up much about your statement "the more we do the more the door opens". Its not our works, but GOD's grace. Jesus Christ is our bridge to the Father metaphorically speaking. He re-enabled the connection between us and GOD through the Cross.

The damage was already done by us through sin and the payment was already made through Jesus on the Cross. Therefore, its not about our works opening or closing doors. GOD is the One who opens the doors. Its us that may unwisely shut the door (through sin or lack of hearing GOD).
