I know somewhere in the bible it states something about not praying about the same thing repeatedly.

The issue I'm having deals with me praying for some family to get out of the cult of islam. I've been praying for some time now and it seems to be having absolutely no effect. They continue praising their child molesting, murderous "prophet". And more importantly, they continue to worship the rock god allah.

So should I just stop praying altogether? Or should i keep praying for this, even though they know who Christ is but see him as a mere prophet- one who is inferior and not seated at the right hand of God.

im really getting sick of the whole islam garbage in my families life and i just feel as if im wasting my energy praying for those who dont desire the truth.

Thats not to say I don't believe God or Christ wont do anything. It's just hard to believe there will be anything answered so long as they put all their faith in their diabolical satanic cult.

Francis of Assisi said "preach the gospel everyday and use words if necessary".

Don't stop praying for them but allow Father to reveal Christ in you to them. Prayer is an important tool and the most important facet of prayer is where we are aligned and adjusted to Father's will and purpose. The best example of this is where Jesus prayed in the garden. He invited His closest disciples to come along and pray also, Jesus went off by Himself and prayed not once but 3 different times until He was aligned to Father's will. But the disciples slept rather than prayed and were not adjusted to Father's will and we of course see the results. When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, He didn't resist them, but the disciples, well I think you know how the event played out. (Matt. 26, Mark 14, John 18)

Being aligned with Father's will is a powerful witness to those who are in the dark concerning Jesus the Christ and Father's plan of reconciliation.

These are Jesus own Words:
Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Thanks guys for the responses. I will continue to pray for them.

Boanerges,
thanks for clarifying the verse for me. I knew it somewhat (But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions) . the other and most important is the part I forgot: as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Start telling the evil spirits to get out in the name of JESUS CHRIST and Bind the evil things these evil spirits are telling them! You do not have to speak where they hear you!

Ask the Spirit of truth to come upon them !

1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Mat 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

When You Pray ? THANK HIm as if its done !

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Then expect it too be done !
Thank Him each day for it as if its done!

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

No matter what We see !We Believe!
We thank Him and worship Him for it ! Because WE know He will answer our prayers in due season!

We DO not Doubt!

We always Ask in His Perfect Will! In HIS time!

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

spirit1st,
Thanks you for the reply. You have brought this issue to a new level for me and I will continue to pray.

I must admit there is something which you stated that I may have trouble with: "When You Pray ? THANK HIm as if its done !"

Now I would like to make it clear that I have absolute faith that Jesus can change and do anything. but the the problem I'm facing here is that my family was born into the satanic islam. the ideologies and beliefs are embedded in the core of their hearts and minds.

I'll admit, that even my mother has deep seeded hatred for those who He said would be hated most among all nations of the world. This type of hatred is so powerful and ugly it makes me sick to my stomach. She also believes that the so-called "martyrs", aka, suicide bombers, are justified in their actions and are truly doing God's work.

So i guess my question is, why should I believe they will change when they have absolutely no reason or intent to change? They know who Jesus is but they are brainwashed to think he is not that which he really is! I mean, these people even believe he didn't die on the cross!!! Jesus surely wont force them to follow him through a miracle. If that were the case, everyone would be saved. Right?

Paul thought the same of Jesus too but look what happen. Just keep loving them and you will see change.

The POWER of GOD is greater than the power of the devil!

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

I agree as do others here!

2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Heb 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Heb 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Thanks guys,
I'll continue with my petitions...it's not easy, especially when I wake up ready to leave work seeing my mother prostrating before a false god.

I think what I'm looking for is a miracle. That is what I'll ask for as well.

May His will be done.

Cherub, I agree with all the advice above, but I'm disturbed by what could possibly be an unChrist-like attitude as quoted above. God looks at our heart, right? Please forgive me if I don't understand your attitude.

So . . . what does Father see there in your heart? When you pray, pray with a heart like that of Christ. He said "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." But still, with the authority Spirit1st spoke of. Know what I mean?

Yes, you are right to a certain extent.. i will admit that I was not 100% Christ-oriented in regards to my attitude. I should have acknowledged they don't know the truth. but I have to wonder, do they not want to know the truth in that they are so comfortable in their cult belief system?

It just fills me with so much anger and rage the way they see Christ, the bible, and their attitude towards Christians and their worship.

He said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." This is something which I never considered to apply in regards to their situation.

I will most certainly continue praying for them and work on my attitude towards this issue.

thanks.

Yes it is hard to stand by when we feel others are shaming Christ, but Christ still loves them and forgives them. They think they have the truth so they are not seeking for it. Just let Christ love work in you and Let Christ work on them.

Maybe Christ will use you to reveal to them that their truth is really a clever lie. Then they will begin to seek again and seek the same Christ that lives in you.
