Need guidance to help a sex addict

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Currently I'm descipling a girl of 17 yrs of age who is an addict to sex. She's into porn, she's into unwanted relationships, she's into sex chat, fantasy etc etc

She opened herself to me after 8 months of continuous discipleship and this is actually a completely new area for me. Even though I have my personal experiences in this area, it's not sufficient to help this girl as she's badly addicted and actually she's enjoying her addiction. She wants to show the world that she's alright and even to God. She's been addicted to this from the age of 13 and even after 4 yrs, she has not said a single prayer and asked God to help her to come out of it.

She had been abused by her own cousin brother when she was 13 and from that day onward she has had a crave for sex.

A year back she was possessed by a very strong evil spirit and we got her back after so much of spiritual warfare. Also, currently her menstrual cycle is affected and the doctors claim that she has boils in her womb. I believe all of these is because of the sin in her life.

Even though she says that she needs to come out of her addiction I still doubt whether she really wants to. But, I've seen her potential in Christ and she has a special calling for evangelizing and I really want to help her and take her out of this situation.

If any one of you are experts in this area, I would appreciate if you can give me some study materials and tips to use in helping her out. I just finished a training program in Christian Counselling. But, I still need to go deeper in this subject.

Your faithfulness and compassion are enduring and admirable. Your prayers need to fasten to God in that this young girl would want this freedom for herself. You wanting it for her cannot make it happen, but your prayers for her will. The prayers right now might best be done with fasting. Are there other strong believers that can fast with you, or the group of you could take turns on different days fasting? This is going to be a battle and collective prayer. The young lady's will must surrender to God in order for it to happen. I say this not lightly. I've been married to a sex addict. So it is God's will that must be done, but her will must comply to Him in love and adoration, wanting with all her heart to be like Him and for Him to be the Lord over her life...and this addiction. In Jesus name.

Your love for this young lady is a force from God. You pray for her. I'm going to pray for her right now after writing this. Thank you for working with her and being used of God.

Thank you very much for your swift response as well as your prayers. Yes, me and my husband had been praying for her for almost a month now. There are so much of elders from whom I can seek help. I actually shared this with my spiritual parents. My pastor and his wife and they too are praying. Other than them and my husband there's no one that I could trust that they would keep this only between God and them. This is a very sensitive situation and I must make sure that this child is not been ill treated at church or made fun of due to her sinful situation. I've not fasted for her, but, yes I should do that. I couldn't mention that her parents have refrained her going to school currently due to the relationship she had with a married man of 45 yrs age. Plz continue to pray for her and me too.

Do an extensive study yourself of the differences between sex and love, the good and bad. Write down all your thoughts on the matter, then search for scripture to see if your own thoughts match up with them. When you are completely saturated in the differences, then put together a bible study to go through with your friend. For instance, you can love anyone and its not ever wrong to do so. But there are many drawbacks to sex outside of a loving committed relationship (and marriage in the eyes of God is the most blessed of committed relationships). How much sex, although pleasurable, is normally all about the me, where sex in within a loving committed relationship is about pleasing your partner while enjoying yourself at the same time. How manipulating for sex when your partner doesnt want to whether due to physical pains or emotional withdrawal for some reason, is tantamount to rape. If its not good for both, spiritually, it will be bad for both. Then there is the problem of feeding the desire for naughtiness in the act, and if thats being done, you will be fulfilling lust versus increasing trust and joy in both partners. And these are just a few pointers amoung the many you will be looking at.

Just stating the obvious here... but sometimes that can be helpful. She can't be free until she wants to be free from this. Slaves that love their chains will never be free. She's most definitely a slave to these spirits that are driving her to sexual perversion and fornication. The fact that she has opened up to you about this though is a positive sign that she may truly want free.

It's not really fair in one sense... but it seems that her cousin transferred a bunch of perverted and sick spirits to her that are still with her and the source of all this. Forgiving him may be a critical key to her getting free... just a thought.

I mean, to be frank, she needs more than just counseling, she needs deliverance in the form of casting the spirits out of her, based on what I'm reading here. If she belongs to Jesus, they don't possess her, but they sure have quite the grip on her and have control over a certain part of her life as long as she lets them. Sounds like she's got quite the battle ahead of her. I pray that the Father would give you, her, and everyone else around you that cares about her wisdom and understanding on what to do and how to do it. Love can certainly free this girl. I hope to hear a praise report on this in the future, that she has gotten free from all this.

Here I am today with my praise report. I had a counselling & a deliverance session with this girl 3 weeks back. It took about 3-4 Hrs for me. And there she opened up herself completely and she started telling how much she's into sexual fantasy. It was a daily experience for her and she never knew that she needs to get rid of it till this day. I had to take each incident, each person and get her to confess and repent. Thank God she did it with the bottom of her heart. And together we broke each spiritual bond she was in. Also, I showed her what God says about sexuality, what the consequences are and how much God wants her to come out of it and how much God loves her.

I met her again yesterday. And she testified that from that day on wards, she never wanted it anymore and that all the lustful thoughts are vanished from her. She prays every night before going to bed and she does her devotions. Her menstrual cycle is back to normal and she's completely healed from it as well. She was in a physical relationship with a man and she has completely come out of it with the help of her parents.

I'll be meeting this girl weekly and will be helping her to recover completely.
