rachael89 Hi...

As Christians we don't live by feelings but by faith. If you sincerely gave your life to God and accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour in your life then you are saved.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Rom 10:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Hello Rachael

You are saved alright if you have asked the LOrd to save you, and have repented of your sin......You are saved. Amen. Ann has said that feelings have nothing to do with Salvation.

Read your bible, pray and ask God to help you...........and He will.

Few have a Damascus Road experience. Most of us, including me hang on to Jesus....and we can speak of his miraculous doings in life. Paul the man who did have the mighty Damascus Road revelation, in later life said that he had to "bring his body into subjection lest he himself having preached the word became a castaway"

Wow...imagine that. The great Apostle having to pull himself together, in matters of faith

But the bible is written to help us. That is why we have such a panoramic picture on human life. Even the Master, Jesus, had to resist the temptations of the devil.

Press on precious sister........you will not be disappointed....

The Walk with God

Generally speaking....

Your walk with God, just like life before you were Saved, is a journey...not a light switch.

Now that doesn't mean there aren't some folks out there who do a sudden return to the Lord. It also doesn't mean you'll *never* experience a sudden change. As you mature spiritually, you will find some things just "fall into" your life as a matter of inspiration. Other things will just "drop out" of your life as the Spirit guides you to give up things of the world which have no place in your Christian life.

Now here is the question: Do you feel convicted...or condemned?

If you are clinging to things of the flesh that should be left behind, the Spirit of the Lord which now dwells within you will convict you to lay those things aside.

But if you are feeling *condemned* then something is wrong -- not with your Salvation, but with your support structure. The Law condemns. But the whole payoff of Salvation was escaping condemnation. If *GOD* will no longer condemn you (nor even remember your sins), then how dare anyone else...and why do you?

You are not under the Law -- you are under Grace. You need to understand that Grace is not simply a doctrine, gift, or idea. Grace is the *Person* of Jesus Christ. Grace incarnate -- Mercy personified.

Why does that matter?

Because Mercy is -- by definition -- refraining from handing out *deserved* punishment. Mercy cannot be given to an innocent person. Oh you can show all sorts of generosity to an innocent person...but not mercy. Someone *must* be guilty for mercy to be possible let alone shown. People forget that.

----

There is nothing quite so spectacular as knowing you have done something wrong, and being forgiven for it by Someone who loves *you* more than they love "being right" or "being justified" or "getting even." If you think back to any time in your life you did something genuinely wrong, but your friend, family member, etc let you patch it up, you'll have an idea what I mean.

And that is exactly how God loves us all. He loves us so very much that despite all of the terrible things we do to Him and each other (and everything bad we do to each other we do to him by proxy), He visits His mercy upon *anyone* who believes and asks.

David wrote that "surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life" ... the hebrew for "follow" is the same word for "pursue" and "hunt down."

All the days of your life, God promises you good things you don't (can't) deserve AND offers His mercy to save you from the bad things you probably do deserve. And when you believe, they hunt you down :)

So shore up your belief. Rather than asking "why don't I feel more peaceful?" Try just asking God "let me know Your peace."

God bless you,

Janette

Everyone has given you great advice. Try reading the whole book of 1 John a few times. It is only 5 chapters short and is great in pointing out key points in your faith of salvation through Jesus. Pray and ask God to open your mind and heart to receive His truths and grace.
