I used to come here all the time, but left for several years. My life has changed & tonite I am needing some help to get thru it. I feel as if I am on top of the world & then something happens & I'm dashed to the ground so harshly. To be honest...tonite I am trying to find a reason to keep on.
Don't know what's wrong, but I hear your cry. What can I do? I pray that you turn to one who can help you even when it doesn’t look like there's an out. I pray that the Lord will present to you what will comfort you and set your mind in peace. I pray that He will comfort you and guide you no matter the cause of your anguish. Lean upon Him and Trust Him.

A Brother In Christ
When I feel really sad or depressed I like to listen to good, christian music. I understand that this is something worse than simply 'being sad', but I know that music always helps me a lot. Michelle Tumes is my recommendation.
It's a slow fade, and I know exactly how it feels to fade away. The reason I mentioned listening to music is because it has been a lifeline to me many times.
You mentioned being on top of the world? What brought you so down that anything in this world whether from the top or bottom has you so depressed?

Stay Faithful.

When I get down, it's because I am focusing on myself and not God. I'm being selfish and throwing a pity party. I can think up a million reasons not to happy and how things can be better for just about any situation if I let myself do so. But doing this is exactly what scripture says we should not do. Because this is not trusting in the Lord. Don't let the Devil get a foothold in that way. Self pity is one of his favorites.
It's really that simple in a lot of cases. I can quickly re-energize when I take the focus off myself and put the spotlight back on the Lord. This can include reading His word, or some other Christian authors, or prayer for other people (not myself) and their troubles. Another important one is service. Ask yourself how you are serving God and are you properly using your God given talents for His purposes.
This low time might be a trial and wake-up call to get your eyes back to Him.
You should be on top of the world. The God of this universe has chosen to have a relationship with YOU! He loved you first, as scripture says.

I am praying for you my friend. Jesus is and always has been all you really needed. Trust Him now and see Him work something beautiful in your life.
Many blessings in His Name,
your brother Larry.

Sapphire, NY Believer speaks truth and has done a fine job of it.
I have no way of knowing what troubles you but, whether real or perceived, it makes no difference, it is real to you and that's what counts and my heart goes out to you. You are here for a reason, so let go and let God do the rest. All of us struggle to some degree, because, after all, it is a human trait. This is not to lessen your concern and effort to reach out. I can say that I have never been “at the end of my rope” and that must be a terrible thing to deal with. Don’t think God doesn’t care about you; sometime we can talk about the depth of his Love just for you!
Many "Christians" come home, at the end of the day, and feel empty and lost and this is where I think that NY Believer speaks truth, in that, many times they focus too much on themselves and not the real solution to their problems, Jesus! Listen to what Jesus says and really let it soak in:
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15: 4-5
Here’s the problem, we try to be Christians and fail! I know that I certainly have. Why? Because We can’t be Christians, it is really impossible! That is exactly what Jesus is reminding us of in the above verse. Stop trying to do it yourself, rather let Christ live His life through you, let his light shine through for the world to see, not your own efforts.
Yes it may be hard at first but, practice does make perfect! Yes it will be you that bears the fruit but, you will soon realize that it is His fruit and not yours. That is where your peace and understanding will come from. If you ask for Him to do this through you, you will get opportunities to serve others and change your focus on them and away from you. That is the essence of “letting go and letting God”.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:6-7
Hi Sapphire......I see you are a member from 2004......
Let me say that I appreciate you....in Jesus. Being a member here you will know that 'Jesus works' He is the Saviour of all who call upon His Name in sincerity.
If we could not depend upon Him....none of us would be here.
So while I take the time to pray for you......I suggest that you retrace you steps back to Jesus....for there is nothing too difficult for Him...and I feel all will be well for you...as you 'trust in Him'
