Being a college student has a lot of responsibilities. You've got to go to class, study the homework and prepare for tests, and try to have a life outside of school. Right now, I don't really want to do the 'school' part. I very easily get sidetracked during the day when I could be doing homework or something else productive. I keep forgetting to do stuff and I just wish I could take a week off to sleep and do whatever, but I know that won't happen. Any of you feel like that?

I'm in college also. This year is my first year and I have to agree it is a lot of responsibility. Keep your mind on this, after you get out of college you'll be getting a good paying job and all the money and studying was worth it.

My advise would be to simply put college before your social life and having fun. Make time for studying and homework. The day you get your homework, do it. Study for tests every moment you have free. You'll have to sacrifice fun time, but it is way worth it.

Also, make sure you get plenty of sleep. There have been studies done and it shows that people that get more sleep are more alert and make better grades in college. Eating healthy will also help your brain to function properly. I take a vitamin called "Ginkgo Biloba" and it is for mental alertness. So if you want to check that out, I'm sure they have it at any drug store or Wal-Mart.

And finally, the most important thing. Pray, pray and pray. Ask God to help you study and do homework. God will hear you if you're humble about your prayer. I will remember to pray for you and pray for me too, I need it.

Love in Christ and God Bless

I think you're going to have to sit down, think hard about want you want and make a decision.
You have two choices - a life outside of school or school - doing both will only create conflict and it seems you are spending more time having a social life than concentrating on school.
It is not wrong having a social life it is actually normal and healthy but when it becomes more imprtant than school - then you're in trouble.

This is the preparation for the rest of your life, if you mess this up, your life will go in a different direction and 20 years from now you will be sorry and then it will be too late.

Dedicate this short time to your future, before you know it, it will be over and you will be glad of your perseverence.

Don't be pressured into things just for fun it is not worth it, what I want to encourage you to do is to go against the social stream:
"Anyone can go with the stream. It takes courage to be different."

God made this opportunity possible - make the most of it.

I hope I don't sound too harsh - I also have a son in university and I experience all his frustrations with him. I just encourage him to hold on and to get through school the best way that is possible for him.

Lots of love. Ann

Blessings!
