Greetings,

back in the Old Testament we can see how man added to the Law given by the LORD.

When The Saviour came and walked among men He confronted the outcome of what amounts to men adding to what God has said.

And He said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Luke 11:46

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Luke 11:52

And as He said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge Him vehemently, and to provoke Him to speak of many things: Laying wait for Him, and seeking to catch something out of His mouth, that they might accuse Him.
Luke 11:53-54

Today most will haply tell you that the old has passed away and we are no longer under the law... however, what most do not realize is that we are repeating the same thing, only this time we are using the Doctrine of God and the Scripture to make new doctrines about nearly everything... while generally bypassing God's doctrine and putting burdens upon people and each other that simple put, work against us and hinder us from the refuge to be found in the Prince of Peace.

So many demoninations and so many 'new churches' all over the world and all arguing and claiming exclusive rights and higher truths.

Let us be mindful that we do not follow the traditions of man, nor follow the modern way of churchianity where everyone gets taught a blend of christianese, and live according to the rules and regulations and constitutions of one denomination or another.

It is not necessary to give examples here on the ground that any omitted might consider themselves safe and those 'earmarked' would become the witches hunt prey of demon hunters and fools after another round of blood.

Sounds a bit strange? Consider for a moment the similarities presented here.

Today we have men and women claiming and teaching and debating and denying and grouping together and tearing apart anyone and everyone who will listen to them and get caught in their net.
It is sad indeed that this is about the professing church.
Alas, many are being deceived and led astray and there appears no man to help.

There is much we are missing in our modern new old testament ways.

What will the LORD say when He returns?

Consider this.

Bless you ....><>

The first in this world (religiously speaking) may well be the last in the Kingdom of God, if they spent their time on earth harshly judging others.

We have more to work with now than they had in the OT. In the wilderness they had Moses and at the end Joshua and their end depended on them following their designated leader and obeying the laws God passed down to the people through that leader.

People say that now we have the scripture, but as has been said in the OP, people have used the written scripture to make new doctrines and to form what is now a multitude of denominations.

We may all perhaps agree that Jesus is the Truth, but how many of will agree on exactly what Jesus is, or is not?

We, the so-called Christians of today in a very large measure, I believe, are very much like the Jewish people in the day when Jesus walked planet Earth in a carnal body about 2000 years ago.

The answer is in scripture, but without the lead of the Holy Ghost, no one can understand what God is saying in scripture.

But, we do have more than they had then. That puts more of a burden on us:

"But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:48

"He will cut them to pieces."

Greetings,

sobering...

or at least it should be.

"Take heed", "listen",

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Corinthians 13:1

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:21

Bless you ....><>

You know I'm quoting Jesus.

Greetings,

I did note the quotation marks, thank you.

Bless you ....><>

Greetings,

taken on their own , those words you quoted without reference could be said by an instructor to a trainee chef making fruit salad.
However, given the topic at hand and the conversation being had, it may be a long stretch to imagine as you question.

Bless you ....><>
