hi everyone

i need your thoughts and prayers, seriously!!!

I have been getting to know God for a couple of years now and only recently become amember of Christs church after a very long struggle!!!

Prior to knowing God and Christ Jesus in my life I lived a life of deep sin, alcohol a drug misuse, lying, cheating, manipulating and most importantly living a homosexual lifestyle, which i know from scriptures is so very wrong - but since coming to Christ I have been releaved of desires as such, but am alone and struggling to find the strength to come to fellowship with fellow followers of Christ as i am so scared of opening up to people, but yet I know that finding fellowship with fellow Christians will help!!!

I feel so lost and need help!!!

hi Dalan. You are not alone, for you are precious in the sight of God and have been chosen in Him before the foundation of this world. When you became His you immediately became part of His body and He is the Head of this body. Regarding fellowship- 'Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ' 1John 1:3. Grab hold of this by faith for it is yours. The object of Christ's love is to take us into the enjoyment of all that He Himself enjoys. Looking back brings us sorrow but looking forward to the Lord Jesus Christ brings us joy and because He loves fellowship He will direct your path to others that belong to Him. Every time you seek Him He will be found for the Lord loves to communicate and guide us in the Father's will.

Heb 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Is. 43:25
I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. Is. 43:25

There are many scriptures that tell us God forgets our sins when we confess them. Of course the Devil always tries to remind us of them to tear us down. Please rest in the assurance that the Lord loves you and has forgiven you. Your confessed sins are forgotten. Live a life new and fresh in the Lord. Seek him with your whole heart and he will satisfy your every want.

(Proverbs 3:5-6)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge him,
And he will make your paths straight.”

We serve and worship a Awesome God. I pray the Lord shines his love and guidance down upon you!!

We have all fallen short and we are all imperfect, but when we come to Jesus and confess those sins and accept Him as Lord and Savior of our lives it is then we are cleansed and made like new. Jesus loves you so much my friend. So much so that He gave His own Life and shed His precious Blood so that you and all of us could be redeemed and saved...Its by His sacrific we are made pure and our sins forgotten. There is no judgement here for who of us can say we are perfect and haven't made mistakes.. we all have and certianly we aren't perfect.

Hold Tight to Jesus, keep in the word, pray, talk and walk with Him daily. You are not who you used to be my friend...You are a child of the King and He loves you and cherishs you and the time you spend with Him....You are never alone Jesus is always there with you.

I will be praying for you my friend. May God bless and keep you now and always.

Dalan-ranna!! Matt 10:16 says Behold I send you out,as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. Many have read this scripture but have no idea what it means! Before you can open yourself up to others, you must first find out if you can?? Ah HA!! Listen to them, then ask questions like,You know I have this friend who was a homosexual, I wonder what help I can give him?? SEE!! Shrewd!! but innocent! I say this to you, because you are weak yet,I do not want you to get hurt! To be strong in Jesus, does not happen overnight! It takes time, and the more time you spend with Jesus in prayer, and in his Word ,the stronger you will be!! Trusting others outside my family, has never been a strong quality with me,wolves as you know are not just in the world!! They are in places many do not think!! Like some Churches!! TEST!! Always test! In this way my brother,by testing them, you test yourselve, for what is it that you seek? Do you seek the Lord through others,or something else? This only you can answer,no judge here!! But I want you to know, that the Body of Christ does love you,and does care for you! Whatever we do!! Have PURPOSE!! Never say or do anything without purpose. If you will always remember this my brother, then you will not only help yourself, but what you true purpose in Jesus is!! To help OTHERS!! Amen!! my prayers are with you!

Dalan-ranna,
My hope is that your feeling of being alone or somehow not part of the body of believers is due to having to explain your sins which have been wiped clean.
1 Cor 6:11 “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Heb 10:22 “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”
2 Pe 1:9 “But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.”
Heb 8:12 “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
Jer 31:34 “…....For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Isa 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”
Like me and many believers, who can attest to, if asked, in honesty and knowledge of scripture. We have been breakers of probably every commandment at one time or another before repenting and accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. Being born again, doesn’t mean we continue to rehash old news. Now unless you’re attending an AA meeting where you need to stand up and say “hi my name is Dalan-ranna and I used to be a homosexual”. Do you think that fellowshipping with other believers requires you to say “Hi, I’m Christ4Ever, and I’m a lying, adultery, thieving, idolater”, “want to fellowship?” Why allow yourself to cling to a sin that is yours no longer? Do you think you need to “come clean” (confess) to me or any believer your past transgressions, just so you feel like you’ve been fully honest to folks before breaking bread? If so then read again the above scriptures. Why hold on to something that God does not? Satan works on you that way. Sins of the flesh are particularly difficult to put behind us, because the minute we feel that we’ve put it behind us, Satan will present a situation where you’ll be reminded of it! That does not mean you can’t use your experiences to help others when you see the need, but that’s not a prerequisite to fellowshipping. When it becomes such a burden to you, remember, you turn to the one who can protect you, that is your tower to run to (Prov 18:10), who will do battle for you! Psalm 143 provides a comfort to me, for it shows that I can come to God when beset by enemies. Romans Chapter 8 can help you with some understanding of Life through the Spirit, Future Glory, and that we’re more than Conquerors!
I pray that you may be comforted in the knowledge, truth of His word and that you are not alone! If not only by His word, then believe by the words of brothers & sisters who have posted here in answer to your plea. Praying for you bro.

Pray to God for strength - mentally and physically. The greatest battles are not won physically but rather mentally. Your mind (like all minds) will try to tempt you into doing things you don't want to do - it'll remind you of the pleasures you once enjoyed from lying, cheating and drugs. But you must fight it. I myself was once a liar, a cheat, a racist and a hater. I swore all the time, I beated people up and I cared not for anyone but myself but after Christ found me (yep, I never came to Him, He came to me! And thus I have dedicated my life to Him because without Him, I would be dead, so now I live this life for Him), I changed. I genially love those around me (love thy neighbour and never plot any harm against them) and could never picture myself hurting others through words or physically.

"The road to Hell is many but the path to Heaven is narrow."

Welcome to the family of God dalan-ranna!
So glad to know you have accepted Christ has your lord and Savior.
may God continue to lead and guide your life.
It is important to read the word-it's our compass in this day we live in.
Pray -God wants you to fellowship with him .
be among other believers. Find those who you can share with and who will be there to support you and pray for you in this wonderful journey of following the Lord.
God has a plan for your life . Seek him with your whole heart.
There is no better place to be then in the will of God.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ: Phil 1:6

Before I was saved, I would have had a great fear of fellowship too. I was truly addicted to being a loner, avoiding people, social situations, talking on the phone, or even leaving the house and doing things. I wanted to avoid interraction anywhere I could.

God will give you strength for fellowship! Just give yourself to him!

When I first was praying to God for help in overcoming these anxieties, and asking him to provide me strength, he lead me to a couple passages that really spoke to me.

Matthew 7 and 8 "Ask and it shall be given you seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you: (8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

Pray to God for the strength to experience more fellowship with other Christians! If you ask Him, he will give it to you! You will find them welcoming, open, and knowledgeable and to be a great amount of help in your own walk!
